Emergency Braking System

Post by HungarianKnight » Sun Jul 09, 2006 5:12 am

I found a technical/continuity error in the EBS technology. We know well that Kitt has T-tops, yet a part of these T-tops, along with their center console, just flip upwards! Not the whole T-top, just a section of it. How is this possible? Maybe Bonnie achived to make Kitt control his shell on the molecular level? Otherwise, the gadget seems impossible to function...

Another thing that appears to be wrong is the basecoat, IT'S RED!!! How on earth can you paint a car black with a bascoat of red?!
Michael: Kitt what matters to me is who you are not what you look like. Sure we don't have the car so we can't turbo boost so we can't go over 200 miles an hour but it was all icing on the cake anyway

if that's the least of your worries about the inconsistancies, you should feel lucky

How does a T-top with solid pilars turn into a convertable, where are the moulding lines for KITTs spm functional pop outs, if the boosters pop up from behind the glass, where are the lights at.....to name but a few :)

Well, don't feel lost. In the real car...EVEN THEY could not figure out how to merge Silly Popout Mode into the display car. The "magic" of Hollywood pulls the blinds over our eyes by the mere act of swapping, incompletes and miniatures.

It's arguable that the enhancements of Season 4 were KR's final nail in the coffin...at least, until all the re-animation attempts started up. (KR 2000/KR 2010/TKR)

Didn't they try to show that the car still had T-tops with the EBS. I haven't seen the night shot of KITT in SPM in a long time, but I think I remember that they tried to show smaller T-tops just after MK hit the EBS and he got ready to eject out of KITT onto a roof top.

I must say I enjoyed seeing the different areas of lit up by red for that one night SPM episode. I wish they would have made more night time SPMs......oh well - all we can do now is hope and wait for the movie to kick out... and wait and wait and ......

We need a new movie to then kick start a new series.

It's a show that you shouldn't think too much about or the enjoyment can die a little.

I believe that KITT had some modified T-Tops and Roof. Like they are designed to look like T-Tops but they actually slide off.
When the EBS is activated the two parts raise together making them work like 1 big flap.

But you all do agree with the fact that those two red "flipouts" (EBS), didn't make much of a difference when breaking, right?
I mean, what can two small door-like flipouts do, in terms of slowing down the speed?

On a car - I would think it would do very little. I'm pretty sure they picked up the idea from the flaps on an airplane when it lands.

The SPM reminds me too much of the Lamborghini Countach. I'm not sure if they got the idea from that car or just wanted to tinker up something to improve KITTs looks in the last season and boost the ratings to try and keep it alive.

Even the rear spoiler was customized for the SPM KITT.

There are many differences - but there is a hint of something on the rear spoiler and the two rear vents that make it look like they took on the idea and then expanded.

i have noticed something of knight rider show and knight rider the game. You know that on the show there was a team who builded the spm, but in the game bonnie constructed it herself. Ho is it possible?

First of all, I think we should be clear about the fact that there are some differences between the game and the series!
Obviously, you can't make an exact copy of the storyline in the series and apply it to the game.
Second, if you look back at the episodes were Kitt was destroyed, you will notice that he sometimes were recovered by just Bonnie and nobody else, whereas sometimes by a whole group of technitians!
Then again, the amount of technitians required to recover Kitt was very much depending on the damage and what had to be done.
What I am trying to say is that you shouldn't compare the game with the series in terms of how many technitians they should have had etc., because I think we all could agree, that the game is very different from the series...
