Michael Long - hood on Trans Am
I bet everyone has noticed when Michael Long was shot he fell onto the hood of his Trans Am and you can see the engine I don't know why I don't think Michael Long was heavy enough to smash through the hood.

The Phoenix is not on the engine. Only on the hood.
Thats just some scuff marks on the hood.

As I said, it is a reflection of trees and the night time sky on the hood.
Remember, it was a NEW car so it was nice and shiney! Though
he did leave some type of liquid trail as he slid down the hood.
That and if it was the enigine (which it is not) he would not have
slid down it, he would have fallen INTO the opening. Simple logic.
The engine is UNDER the hood!
That and the engine would not be THAT FAR UP on the car. its back
towards the windshield. Your seeing something way up towards the
nose. HELLO..................
If my engine looked like that, I'd sell the damn car too!

I have to admit though, if it's just superficial car damage then it is very bad looking because it can confuse the viewer as to what it actually is.
Even I am not totally convinced it's actually damage but something else. It seems like the camera hasn't fully focused on the centre of the car and it's a big blurry splodge.

on a slightly different note, does anyone know why they bothered giving Michael Long a black and gold T/A as his car at the beginning, considering it would have been cheaper to give him any other car???? (so the T/A could be used for stunts without having a new paint job....)
or why not just use one of the KITT cars but without the illuminated dash...??

I guess so the scene where Michael believes that KITT is really his old car, would be more believable.

I never knew what it was before when I saw it on the website I thought maybe it was engine... I was wrong. Looking at it now it does look a bit like reflections of something above. I don't know how it could reflect so well!

It's called foreshadowing. It's a plot device, nothing more. Though, I think the other poster is right, because Michael thought KITT was built from his car at first (he even continued to believe it for awhile after Devon corrected him), and they wanted Michael to think this at the beginning. In reality, Michael's TA was just left in the desert, along with a body for the cops to find so they'd think he was dead. (April shows a newspaper clipping in a season 2 episode that confirms this.)pheonix_knight wrote:on a slightly different note, does anyone know why they bothered giving Michael Long a black and gold T/A as his car at the beginning, considering it would have been cheaper to give him any other car???? The pilot was aired yesterday and I got a good glimpse at the hood. It never gets dented, or anything, it's Michael's blood plus (probably) the desert sand, it's "just" smudge. There is a golden Firebird logo at the front end of the hood, it is clearly visible that it's a flat surface and doesn't belong to the engine...
