Problems to create 1 TV Electronics Dash

Post by Captain Nguyen » Sun Mar 19, 2006 7:04 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm going to building a PCB of Knight Rider.
But I saw a pic of tachometer section.
About gauges.

There is a other gauges (right from tacho section) that work of:
Fuel (FUEL CELL),
Voltage (VDC),
Oil press (PSI),
Water Temp (H2O F).

See pic.

But on tacho section...
What can I put in?
I was thinking about to add turn signal.
And other signals about oil, engine, etc.
You may to suggest about this section.

See pic.

Well, in seasons 1 & 2 he could, but in 3 & 4 the signals were completely covered by the nose, so he couldn't use them even if he wanted to.

Ok I have two answers to that one:

1. Ocassionally you would see in season 3 or 4 that the turn signal areas were uncovered rarely but we are really supposed to see KITT without the front turn signals.

2. KITT should still have had rear turn signals but I think they made them part of the break light.

Hehe,

I live in Netherlands.
We must use turn signals here.
So, have you got any idea for other options?
Like as engine check, and more.

Sweet dash electronics! Congratulations. If you use an onboard computer, you may apply a gauge to measure CPU temperature.

Those dash electronics are not of my.
Pics came from knightreplicas.

I have only PCB circuit draw.

Here is a scan pic of my PCB draw of:
KITT voicebox Season 1/2 and 3/4.
Season 1/2 Tachometer with Fuel-, Oil Press-, Temp Gauges.

Image

And KARR Voicebox is ready too to draw PCB circuit.

And I'm now going to draw a PCB of Season 3/4 Tacho with or without gauges that work as Control lights.
So, I want to know what the best at the gauges section.

I have maybe corrected pics of both dashboard.
Maybe did you know about this.

Season 1/2 Dash

Season 3/4 Dash

Now I can work correctly and I have got idea.
By Season 3/4 dash.
How did you call that?
At the light from tacho where buttons and gauges.
Called Volt panel?

Right there under 4 digit display.
I will put there control lights, such as Turn signals, Engine check, and more.

Or these control light can be in section of speedometer.

And working buttons of normal cruise to pursuit.
Like as idea from Japan.

But about Tacho.
Is there really 3 digit display? Or is it not 2 digit display?

correct. this side has a 2digit display as it is the rpm indicator...
the 3digit display is on the other side, and is for the mph

Hate to say it but the season 3/4 dash had three digits on the tach
and the speedo. Not two. I know the above picture shows only 2 lit.
Butt here are in fact 3 of them.

Also noticed that your 1/2 season designed voicebox should only
have 16 segments in the voicebox bargraph and not 20. Only seasons
3/4 had 20 segements in the voice display. Looking good otherwise.

If your copying your designs from the Marks Custom Kits electronics
pictured at the top, they are not accurate. You may wanna check the
knightreplicas site for the proper lay out on them.

Okay,

But now I have not enough space for third display for tacho. :(
And those PCB are designed by my.

I see it about voicebox.
These can to be adapt that use only 16 segments.
Otherwise can it be covered by dash or whatever.

Or I will cut 10 Led bar graph.
To 8 Led bar graph.

Thnx
