Today I came across a very unique find. I went to book store to get my what was supposed to be a retro Knight Rider book. What I came across instead was
three different books with cassette tapes from the 80s. All in
superb condition! These haven't been touched since I don't know when but they surely are quite old and vintage. Has anyone any information about these?
The stories are:
* K.I.T.T. Vanishes
* Target for Revenge
* Highway to Danger
The series is called U.S.A. Superstars(TM) Books & Cassettes and according to the back of the card the series also include titles from He-Man, Barbie, Dukes of Hazzard, Tarzan, Garfield etc. I think the publisher is Invicta Plastic Ltd., Audio Visual Division and the latest copyright year is 1984.
Here's the image:
Have you seen these?

I didn't know anything like that existed.....
Good display, though.

Hrrmm. The most I know about those books was seeing a picture of the cover for 'KITT Vanishes' when I was looking for the KR novels on-line.
Have you opened them up and looked at them, or are you going to keep them mint? I'd be dieing to know what the Mike and KITT on the cassette sound like.
When I was younger, my local library had a few 'cassette/book' packs like that, but I don't remember seeing one of the KR books you have there. And I haven't seen a pack like that in a loooong time. Searching my library's website brings up nothing but a listing for the S:1 DVD set, which has 5 requests for it once it's returned. Quite a popular show up here, I guess.

Wow those books look awesome! What a great find Toni.

I remember when I was three I had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cassette book that I listen to so much that the tape broke.
Flyer Guy: "You really a talking car?"
KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

Wow, that must be very rare find in Finland! Are the books and the cassette's content in finnish or english? I don't remember ever seen one of those before.
I have 2 Knight Rider books written in finnish (Ritari Ässän synty = Pilot and Laittomia Aseita = Hearts of Stone) and to my knowledge there aren't any more than those two in finnish. Well, except that the Trust Doesn't Rust -story was published in four issues of finnish magazine called Seura on spring 1984. I have photocopies of that story.

Everything in English. According to the store from where I bought them, these were supposed to be for the students who learn English but the phrases used in the books were too difficult and that's why they haven't been able to sell them.

I've been searching for those two for quite some time already. No luck yet. Nice that you rescued some

AWESOME FIND!!!!!
I have the middle book 'Highway To Danger'. The difference is that when I bought mine (around the time when the series was out), it came with a 45 record, not a tape. Here's a photo I just took.

Cool!

Thing is, they had an inaccuracy (and of all things to put in a children's book yet). Michael never carried a gun or even fired one (that I know of) in the original series.
