Sorry this is late...
The February 2005 issue of United Airline's inflight magazine had a short article about Hasselhoff's trip to Vietnam. I know it sounds like a corporate press release, but it's still a cool thing:
Free Wheelin' Hasselhoff
A television star brings good works to United's first flight to Vietnam.
Stars can shine without contrived backdrops or a sassy Trans Am escort; just ask David Hasselhoff. The Knight Rider and Baywatch hero arrived in Ho Chi Minh city (formerly known as Saigon) December 10, 2004, on United's inaugural flight - accompanied by used wheelchairs.
Hundreds of media folks covered the arrival of the first scheduled flight of a U.S. airline to Vietnam in almost 30 years as well as the precious cargo in the aircraft's belly. At a media conference, eyes welled up and cameras flashed as Hasselhoff - a Wheels for Humanity spokesman - addresses how his group's shipment, carried by United at no cost, will give disabled Vietnamese youth greater mobility. The inaugural aircraft, visible through an airport window, framed hasselhoff's podium. Unlike his talking TV vehicle, the 747 stayed mum. Its presence alone was a testimony to United's commitment to corporate social investment.
