Acquired something VERY special (screen used jacket)

Post by Skav » Tue Jan 29, 2013 6:51 pm

Some of you may have seen an auction held on Ebay this past week for a screen used Comtron security jacket worn by Hasselhoff in the pilot episode. Well, I was the one and only winning bidder on this rare gem.

As you can see, the jacket has one button missing but this can be seen in the episode itself just after Michael is shot and is confronted by a guard outside the building containing the microchip evidence. It was thought that the button went missing during the fight scene between Michael and the guard just before he changed into his disguise but I viewed the footage and the button was still on the guard's jacket as he was hauled away by Michael, so who knows where it went and why it went missing?

The label states '#1' which leads me to believe that The Hoff wore more than one jacket. As he exits the room where he left the guard, he walks out with two buttons on the jacket as he talks on his walkie talkie but in the next scene the jacket has one button, which was most likely the one I own.

Check out the pics. You can see where the metal badge on his left chest was placed as the two holes are there.

The jacket is in great condition for something that is 31 years old. It originally came from Reel Clothes and the owner, Lennard Billin and his wife, regularly loan out props to various Planet Hollywood restaurants around the world so I can be assured of it's authenticity as he is quite a big name in the prop collecting community.

Enjoy.

I love the cheesey 80s Comtron logos.

Take good care of it, skav!
