I don't believe it is, myself. There is no mention of a COA, and the plate looks remarkably in good condition.

That I in knIght is definately a problem. What I find is very funny is he uses an image of David getting down on one knee in front of a license plate with the correct i.

The seller can't be too bright. And he/she wants 2,500 for it.Knight Racer wrote:That I in knIght is definately a problem. What I find is very funny is he uses an image of David getting down on one knee in front of a license plate with the correct i.

It does come with a COA, it's in the title. I would love to see what kind of document this seller produces.
I'll give the seller the benefit of the doubt and wonder if the film makers produced this one but didn't use it due to the I, and they changed it.
Unused props get made for films all the time due to testing ideas, and a lot of money went into KR.
All in all, however, it is probably a fake.

That plate wasn't screen used...it's one that Carl Casper put on one the screen used cars for tour purposes after the show ended....it was on an original car, just not used in the show.

This has been another mystery solved by Joe Huth. Thanks Joe.I once argued with a guy selling one of these plates on ebay telling him the i wasn't the correct fontbut he didn't care and kept saying screen used. Its nice to know the background of these items.

Thanks, Joe!
I knew it wasn't screen used because no plate with an I like that is anywhere to be found in any of the episodes, but never knew the story behind it. Cheers.
By the way, I thought all the cars were destroyed after the show ended?

Re: Allegedly used KNIGHT plate from Knight Rider
Every couple of years one of these "screen used" plates seem to turn up, and they always seem to have the incorrect "I" letter. It seems in a lot of these cases that the plates do have something to do with the show, but aren't quite screen used, despite being made to look that way. Just goes to show that even with a COA, it doesn't necessarily mean you're getting what you're paying for.
