KARR 1982 v KARR 2008 Online Pool

Post by Tony P Knight Driver » Wed Nov 12, 2008 7:58 pm

I suggest a friendly competion: an online KARR pool. :karr:
With the only real prize being you got it right & bragging rights.

I am both disappointed in the KARR matter, yet also excited to see how they have reinvented KARR as a type of cyborg / car / go-bot / optimus prime / who knows what else.

After watching the video on KnightResearcher.com, I am now convinced more than ever that KARR was somehow involved in Operation Secure Freedom, but I am unsure why Michael will be blamed or who it is that will never stop looking for him.

WHAT I PROPOSE IS: Each of us try and collectively figure out if this the original KARR or a new KARR, and what his ties are to Michael Knight Jr. before the show airs.
Post your theories here.
I think it would be cool to see if we guess right or wrong. Again, the only real prize being you got it right & bragging rights.

Ok these are the things we know about KARR:
1. Originally KARR was the prototype version of KITT, originally designed by Wilton Knight and built by Knight Industries. Upon completion of the vehicle, KARR's CPU was activated. However, a programming error made the computer unstable and potentially dangerous. The project was put on hold and the car was placed in storage until a solution could be found.
2. KARR was programmed for self-preservation, making him a ruthless and unpredictable threat.

3. Wikapedia reports: KARR is mentioned in the new Knight Rider series episode "Knight of the Living Dead" (season one, episode #6), and was said to be a prototype of KITT. The KARR acronym now stands for "Knight Auto-Cybernetic Roving Robot-Exoskeleton" and instead of an automobile, a schematic display showed a humanoid-looking robot with wheeled legs that converts into an ambiguous off-road vehicle. Similar to the original character, this incarnation of KARR had an AI that was programmed for self-preservation and was subsequently deactivated after killing seven people. In the episode a spy infiltrates the Knight headquarters and steals KITT's files, leaving the team with only one conclusion that someone is trying to reactivate KARR.

4. An exoskeleton is an external skeleton that supports and protects an animal's body.

5. A cyborg is a cybernetic organism (i.e., an organism that has both artificial and natural systems)

My theory is this:
This is the orginal CPU from the orignal KARR. After KARRs shell was destroyed (KITT v KARR)Knight Industries sent a team out to clean up the pieces. KARR’s original CPU was salvaged.

Dr.Graimen troubled by what he deemed a failure in his programing of KARR rewrote the software in an attempt to repair the original programing error. He fixes it and this time gives KARR the ability to self program so KARR can correct programing errors he encounters.

KARR’s CPU was then integrated in to the exoskelton we saw displayed in Knight of the Living Dead.

KARR was utilized by the military, something went wrong with his programing again. He starts killing people he feels are a threat to his survivial and somehow absobs their DNA or perhaps actual bodies to mimic the appearence of a human as need to achive his misssion.

Michael’s Team was sent in to nutralize him, “Operation Secure Freedom” the end result being Micheals memory wipe under the instructions of Alex Torres.

I also have a hunch Micheal was responsoible for either training KARR, saying KARR was ok to go on a mission or Training the human part of the cyborg.

That is my theory. What's Yours?

KARR is just a naked KITT...thats the big difference between the two right now.

My guess is they might want to keep KARR around for awhile, like they did with Cromartie in Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles.
