Why did the first Knight Rider Die out?

Post by MR2NR » Sun Oct 19, 2008 10:13 pm

Was it due to ratings or David wanting to try new things? I have been told both but never got a definite answer.

From the way Hoff carries on about Knight Rider I seriously doubt he wanted to move on to other things.

That and the fact that the only other thing he's ever moved on to was Babe Watch several years after KR.

It seemed to me that the writers were simply out of ideas. The 4th season was home to several clone episodes to episodes that had already happened. What's sad is that the 4th season is still home to some really great episodes, if they had been able to hold onto the quality of Knight of the Juggernaut or Sky Knight the show may have been around for another year or so.

I heard it was a money issue too.I mean $450,000 to get spm mode, that and not to mention the stunts were very expensive to rig up.Universal just didn't see a point in renewing it I guess.
