Will KI3T get a body make-over in 2009?
Let's assume that the show does well enough for a second season in 2009. Right now Ford is making a HUGE deal about the new body of the 2010 Mustang, which should be available in 2009. They are releasing new images on their website every few weeks (the next one is hitting the site on Oct. 15th).
So if the Mustang body changes, I assume it will affect the design of the Mustang Shelby Cobra - and I also assume that Ford is going to want their most recent car on Knight Rider, not last year's model.
So do you think that the K.I.T.T. we're currently seeing will only be a Season One car?

*sigh* And here, boys and girls, is why it was so advantageous for the old KITT to have all the logos off of him.
If Ford changes the body-style, yes they could very well change KITT. (Though, legally, I don't think they'd have to.) However, I think the second season is far and away the bigger 'if' right now.

Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

IMO, if KR gets a season 2, then I would say yes.
Ford will want to show off the new Stang and what better way to do it?

they could always just smash Kitt up once a season, like in TOS...

i really hope that in a possible season 2 KITT will be the new 2010 Mustang!!! from what i've seen so far, the new Mustang looks sleeker than the current model!

Or just let the current 'Stang become KARR and bring in the new 'Stang for KITT.
I got the idea after reading this in the spoiler section...

In TOS, KITT went from being '82 model to 84/5 model, so I presume it'd be the same here.

New Mustang is looking even better than the current model. They had a blue GT500 in the showroom when I took my Saleen in for service today. To bad it wasn't black.
