It would make more sense that Zoe's character (who has already said she speaks 9 languages) travelled the world and learnt from different cultures, including their own 'martial arts' from various parts of the globe.

Sarah is an academic, like her father not a 'hand to hand tactician....'

Ep 3 only concreted what was already buzzing around my head

and this U turn is easily written in storywise because her character's father is on the team....
