I just realised something...
The guy got his thumb cut off and their was no blood. No blood at all. Nothing on the guys shirt, nothing.
Suprised I have not seen a discussion on this.

Re: I just realised something...
I think this has more to do with it being an 8pm show and the gore might be a bit much for audiences. more so than skimpy outfits I suppose...

There was some blood, unless they removed it, but not a lot or anywhere close what there really would be. But like Neil said, it's a "family show".

I might be wrong on this but if you cut off a body part cleanly, I'm sure that restricts the blood flow. So perhaps she cut off his thumb very precisely.
And there was blood over the guy's shirt.

Re: I just realised something...
hello
i was wondering if they needed his dna for the code for the files when kitt cleaned and fixed his wound they have it already by the blood on the tools that fixed his wound so they didn't need to chase them anymore they have it already if kitt scanned the blood remains of of while the thumb was being fixed to me it was stupid to chase them a waste of time
my thoughts

It's beginning to eerily remind me of Disney movies when those kind of situations happen...PHOENIXZERO wrote:There was some blood, unless they removed it, but not a lot or anywhere close what there really would be. But like Neil said, it's a "family show".

Yep your right... your quite wrong. Doesn't matter how you cut off a body part, it's still going to bleed you out if it's not stopped pretty smartly.Skav wrote:I might be wrong on this but if you cut off a body part cleanly, I'm sure that restricts the blood flow. Maybe they could have simply emphasized that he was squeezing his thumb to stop the blood flow, which would have simply explained the small amount of blood.

Re: I just realised something...
ok actually it's me that was quite wrong. LOL
I just asked someone about this who does emergency training, and they replied thus...

Still doesn't look right on TV though does it. Maybe we're just use to the blood and gore these days?

So Skav you where rightIt would for a couple of minutes, but the body's response would actually draw the blood vessels back into the intact body part. It would then almost clamp the injury to help slow blood loss. Most amputations do bleed, but minor ones like a severed finger will actually slow considerably before the body loses too much blood

Just imagine Bambi's mother getting shot or Old Yeller getting put down in a non-family friendly way.

I know that, but it just reminds me of those movies. But I don't really care whether or not we see a guy's finger get chopped off.PHOENIXZERO wrote:Sky_Blue_Civic wrote:It's beginning to eerily remind me of Disney movies when those kind of situations happen...PHOENIXZERO wrote:There was some blood, unless they removed it, but not a lot or anywhere close what there really would be. Re: I just realised something...
They were going for shocking and dramatic and just couldn't add the blood, because (according to Thompson) NBC wants them to keep it as family friendly as possible.
Having said that, just imagine if that girl just made him spit in a bottle. They'd still get the DNA, but spitting proably wouldn't have the same impact.

Too much of it is shown these days. All gore and no substance. I'm a horror movie lover and hate the stuff they bring out today.Rockatteer wrote:Still doesn't look right on TV though does it. Maybe we're just use to the blood and gore these days?
The thumb part never bothered me that much, all I could think about was the next cool action sequence. It is KR after all.

Re: I just realised something...
I assumed Michael continued the chase to get the thumb back from the girl so she couldn't then deliver it to the people that ordered her to get it.mykittcar wrote:hello
