VK's experience

Post by Victor Kros » Fri Jul 25, 2008 2:25 am

First I'd like to say its been a real pleasure meeting up with Neil, Sue, and Mike even if our discussions have been a bit brief. We're all trying to handle our own business and needs to get the most of our comic con experience.

I have to say it was very fun attending the Knight Rider panel and I like how they improved while the stars were stuck in traffic. I think there were positive things overall and with Neil's detailed transcript you can pretty much draw your own conclusions how to feel about the new series thus far. I think it has potential and visually it has some interesting concepts, especially the 4x4 morphing footage but again it all comes down to the writing and for me, respect for the original mythology. I'm not all that keen on this "new mythology" approach but I can understand that Mike Tracer needs to develop as a character who can carry the show, along with his supporting team.

I do want to say that I had the distinct honor to not only briefly meet three of the stars of Knight Rider but I also managed to get them to sign a very nice horizontal photo of the KR poster (blue and black one with Mike and KITT in a darkened garage) in silver sharpie.

I'd like to personally thank Bruce Davidson, Deanna Russo, and Justin Bruening for taking the time out of an already "over the limit" panel to sign my photo for me. I plan to post up a image of it so you can check it out for yourselves when I return home. I can tell you that Justin is a very cool guy and very fan friendly. He really appreciates the fans who have supported him and he has a geniune admiration for the original KR series.

I think as far as the main star of the show goes, Justin will do an excellent job.

Unfortunately I have niether a scanner nor a way to scale down my digital photos at the moment but look for it later next week. This is just day 1 of a 2 day gathering with the trio from KRO, I look forward to seeing what develops tomorrow with the attack KITT unveiling.

Till then hope everyone is enjoying the exclusive content that Neil and Mike are working hard to bring you. As far as SDCC goes, we're all enjoying the experience of learning new info about the things we love and when you can discover those surprises with good company, everyone wins.

I'll probably go deeper into things later (when I'm on my better laptop) but for now I have to get some rest for tomorrow. Carrying around all those bags of goodies will seriously kill your shoulders!

Good to see you had a good time and they do seem like cool people, what else did you check out? Aside from the KR stuff, you looking forward to anything else?

Tomorrow is certainly going to be interesting... A part of me wishes I could have went, but on the other hand I'm not the biggest fan of huge crowds and the madness they can bring.

I will post more up later including the autographed photo and maybe some of the shots I did of things as well. I'm just spent at the moment, those four days have made me incredibly sore carrying around all my equipment, bags, and such. I don't think I've felt this sore in quite awhile.

I also have a ton of other KR related work to do and it seems everyone needs my attention since getting back in town so I will post what I can when time allows. Attack KITT wise, I pretty much gave a decent observation under the unveiling thread so it would be kind of redundant to repeat it all again in here.

You can read that thread here

viewtopic.php?f=1041&t=11780&start=75

halfway down.

I will answer your questions about the non Knight Rider SDCC experience in the proper "lounge" thread later as well since I don't want to mix up the two which were actually quite different experiences anyway.

I will post the rest of the KR based experiences here and the non KR stuff in the other thread in a new topic.

Look for the posts later in the week.

Sorry I haven't posted lately. I have been just swamped with work and haven't had much time to reply to much. I really want to do a good job of posting the rest of my experience with the comic con thing (and some of my own photos I took from there) but for now here is the autographed photo I promised I would show that I had signed over the course of the two days hanging out with Neil, Sue, and Michael at the con.

I have been extremely busy with Knight Rider business as of late and will most likely not even get to the boards this weekend as I have a very important deadline coming up next week, probably the most important one I've had in a very long time. I can assure everyone that the motion picture is moving forward and I will be more involved with it shortly, so I can give an update or two closer to the middle of the month.

Summer of Secrets should still be ok for another week or two, then I have to put together phase 2 which is going to take a little more time. Once I get through this week, I will be able to focus more on board posts and whatnot.

Thanks for understanding and I'll get back to all this when I can so please bare with me. All of your patience with Glen and myself is going to pay off in some very big ways later this fall.

The best is yet to come.

 You must have edited it while I was making my post because all I saw earlier was VK's post being quoted and I think there was your message inside of the quoted area?
