RE: HOMAGE TO THE ORIGINAL SERIES MUSIC

Thinking back one of the great aspects that added to the overall experience of watching Knight Rider for me personally was the music. I used to love the way that we used to see a trailer before each episode giving a sneak peak into what was yet to come.. This for me added to the suspense, tension and excitement along with the integrated rifts over the top between seasons 1-4. Cue the Intro....

Do not quote me on this but did the trailer theme before the intro change between seasons 1-2 and 3-4?

I used to love the chosen selection of music and in a this way kinda influenced my own musical tastes to this day. The likes of Yes and the London Orchestra, Sting, Prince and the Revolution and The Rolling Stones to name a few spring to mind. I wonder if the director will represent these songs in their original form as a homage to the series? Remember Goliath? The theme of "Gimmie Shelter" was used throughout the episode and kinda added mystique and every time I think of that episode I think of Gimmie Shelter.

Likewise with "Knight Of The Drones" introduced Jackson 5- Torture and Prince- Little Red Corvette into the equation too. If directors were to head in this direction then diehard fans of the original could silenty smile in secretly knowing that the music pays homage to the original series.

Personally I would like the new series to come into its own and that we should see some integration of new themes and songs from the modern day. However, where credit is owed I think it would be great to see these songs in some form in the new series What do you guys think? I personally think it would be great to see some rifts from Stu phillips and Don Peake again too. Do you folkes have any other songs or ideas to contribute around songs or rifts?

I think that the opening teasers should remain before the beginning of each episode as a way to link the two shows together. This is a sequel series, so it would make sense that it follows the same formatting. I'd also love to hear a score by Don Peake and Stu Phillips, but I doubt they'd be returning. Still, I'd at least like to hear a score that's similar in nature to what they did. As for the songs themselves, the original series constantly used chart-topping songs of the time, so it would only make sense that the new series does the same. Though music today is very different, of course (and not nearly as good anymore), so the songs would have to be carefully selected. I just hope they're better picks than most of the songs used in the backdoor pilot. Oh, and no cover songs!
