like it....
like it...
it DOES have a feel of TOS with a much more modern slick feel to it which was never matched in any previous incarnation since 1986...
anyone noticed that the scene with mike and sarah in the car has been reshot???
when it was first released, Mike wasnt being thrown around in his seat so much and sarah was a lot more 'matter of fact' in her delivery of the line 'its not an it, its a car... etc'
hope to hear plenty about it on sunday over here in the UK where it will be a long while til we get it...
i already want a series...
incidentally didnt DANTE in TKR have a 'self repair' function????

We've also been told that they are still mixing Kilmer's voice into the new edit, so this STILL may not be the final version. They may process it a bit to give it a different tone. I know, it's frustrating, but in 5 days we'll know for sure!
To answer your question phoenix...
In the "Legion of Doom" episode of TKR, Dante is nearly destroyed by a missile and pushed into the ocean:

Later in the episode he rises to the surface and tells Kyle that his new bonding system has regenerated his outer shell:

Ok, as much as I would like to... I'm not going to watch these clips. That's just too much. I'll wait for the whole film

They're not too revealing as I think all but one is at least, in part shown in the previews. Kilmer's voice sounds okay but hopefully some work is done with the mixing to make it sound better and more fitting. Is it okay if I share these with another forum?
Five more days......

I think I've seen enough so far. I almost feel like I've already watched the Pilot. One week to go...must resist!

I decided to spoil myself and I'm plesenty surprized. This should prove to be a very good movie.
If it makes it to show I hope they can keep up standards.

I really don't care much for Val's voice, it sounds like he rushed it and didn't care, no enthusiasm.

I actually like that voice. Arnett was sounding too...KARR-like. Kilmer's voice seems a lot less badass, which is good.
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

thanks neps that's great!
Val does sound very lack-lustre with the voice work.. but then again, William Daniels voice in the pilot of the 80's series didn't have nearly as much character to it but it did by the end of the shows run.. So, maybe Val will warm up once he gets to know Mike and Sarah a bit.. Maybe he was told to be like that to simulate actually meeting someone for the first time. Everyone is a little more reserved when they first meet someone, but warm up after spending extended time with them.

Good point MrPayner, I have to say I agree. After seeing the clips, it seems like the producers were truly going for the feel of the original pilot. It looks damn good, and I do like Kilmer's voice better as K3TT!

I also like Val Kilmer's voice better for KITT. To me he alsmost sound the the person that did the voice for KITT in the the original Series, VK his voice sounds like a update

BTW, didn't feel like making a new thread about it but these clips are up on the NBC Knight Rider site now:

Also, I am upset how VK sounds, very unrealistic, I like the commercials sounds better!

Sorry for double post, but don't people agree that the voices in the commercials like KITT is Back and the 1 min Trailer with the Sarah phone call, KITT sounds MUCH MORE invigorating and exquisit, however Val sounds VERY blah and like he did it quick to get it over with. I hope it will sound better on Sunday!

I didn't like the commercial voice. He sounded like KARR. And I don't have a problem with KARR's voice - as KARR. (Except that I've always wondered why FLAG gave him such a sinister voice...)
I figured they were gonna go the route of making KITT a "badass." I'm glad they didn't.
I rather liked the delivery of the, "Ignore him KITT, you're doing great."
"I know."
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Yes, they are still working on this film today on many levels - so lets hold judgement until Sunday. We spoke with the SFX house on Wednesday and they're still working on SFX, so it's all almost together!

Whew! That's a relief, I was starting to get disgruntled with the idea of a sloppy voice, thank god someone is working on it.
