Fussy Kitt-"The topaz connection"

Post by KITTFAN2003 » Wed Feb 05, 2003 12:41 am

I noticed during "The Topaz connection" Episode how fussy KITT can be about his own appearance. The final scene where KITT is shown his picture with Bonnie in the Magazine and he says "There is only one thing that keeps this from being picture perfect" to which Micheal replies "what's that?" KITT replies, "Please remove the staple from my fender"

Does anyone think it strange that a car would be that picky?

He was also fussy about getting dusty, dirty, having junk piled on top of him...He was always asking Michael or Bonnie how he looked after he'd been destroyed or rebuilt too.

A car, Yes..
But not KITT..

I find some humer in it myself..
It's kind of the way men, as a whole, tend to obsess over there own cars. What if all cars had emotions.

Would be interesting to see how a Trans Am would express itself, compared to, say, a VW Rabbit.

I'm going to need some help here. You said there's a scene where kitt is shown his picture with Bonnie in the magazine.Unfortunatly my friend ran out of video tape when he taped the episode this week.I have a very very old copy of the episode.I can't see the woman's face clearly. Is that Bonnie on top of kitt?

Yeah, I think that is Bonnie we see on top of KITT. Can anyone else confirm this?

Wasn't there even a scene with the model in the centrefold having her picture taken on Kitt? I can recall a line about 'comparing bodywork', but that might have been another episode.

And Bonnie would never pose for a magazine like that!

Yeah, and they are even using it during the Sci-Fi promos. :)

Wait -- The US Sci-Fi Channel are using the "comparing bodywork" scene? Have I got that right? That scene (sandwiched between Olin's call to Lauren and Michael and K.I.T.T. tailing her limo to meet him) is cut from every version I've seen. Nice find!

It'd be cool if they dig up some other cut material from the vaults...

Here's hoping...

What they use is the very girl we see on KITT's hood in the end, running her hand across the top of KITT's hood in their cutsie Sci-Fi Channel Promos. You can find the promo (if Mike still has it up at his site) off of this link: http://www.knightridermovie.com/mpegs/scifi.mov

Thanks, KI. Checking it out now.

BTW, there's another image of that model with Hasselhoff on The Topaz Connection page at the Archive (Promotional Pic, top left).
