NBC's new Knight Rider launch
Is this the begining of a new series or just another movie like in 1991 with the red KIFT car? Wasn't that the promo for a new KITT series that didn't get off the ground because of the ratings were not so good on the movie, or am I totally wrong?

Knight Rider 2000's ratings weren't that bad, but the overall reactions after the pilot aired weren't that good, so the series never got off the ground, that's right.
Essentially we have the same with this new Knight Rider. It's a pilot. If it succeeds, they will make a series out of it.

I don't see any way that this won't get great ratings, even if it got good ratings I think NBC would go ahead with it, barring a certain potential lawsuit throwing a wrench into their plans. The only other things that would to stop it is if like KR2000, the response is overwhelmingly negative or if it gets abysmal ratings.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!
