A lil blurry, but I have that exact toy.
It's a Knight Rider "key car" if i remember correctly. You get this lil key that fits into the back of the car, its plastic, orange with a black tag that has Knight 2000 on it. I don't know what the key does, but yea.
I don't know where mine is but its somewhere I am sure.

yeah!....I got one of those ,they were everywhere back in the day and that was one of two trans ams that had keyes and the other was the key car that allowed you to lock the doors & wheels and both were very much popular rare to find and must for all collectors!....I had one of the key cars that locked and it was stolen and sooner or later I'll find another!
I took the key chain tag and put it to good use as my conversion key chain!

Yeah i've got a Corvette key car, but the key in the back, when you press it the car shoots forward due to the pressure from the spring.
Are lock-ups collectable?? They are made by Kidco I have Mustang 5.0, Corvette, Firebird, Datsun 280 ZX, well played with though as I loved them, weird thing is one key fitted all models LOL.

Yeah I knew thats what happened the problem with my Kitt one is it doesnt always lock the key in place and the spring pressure isnt nearly as good. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.

I have one still on the bubble card. It was called the Burning Key Cars. You put the key in the back of it and it shot out. I took a picture of it. But I can't figure out how to upload it to show everyone.
You can see it at

It's in the folder called My Collection

they aren't really in high demand. i just bought a carded one of ebay for $5. although i think the lock-ups firebird is the best 3rd generation firebird ever casted, people don't seem to have a thing for them.
