Having not checked this thread, I was out shopping yesterday. I went into my local model shop and low and behold, I spotted it right away, next to KITT.
The bad thing is, I wasn't impressed with it at all. Even under the spotlights of the store to make it look good, it still looked bad.
Totally rushed it seemed, and when I saw the back of the car with NO licence plate, that was it for me.
Don't get me wrong, I'll get it but I won't rush out to buy it and if it's possible that a Japanese version ends up on Ebay, I will pay extra to get that version.
My attention was soon diverted to the Christine and Batmobile model's rather than this which is saying something.

Whats the difference? KARR licence plate & white tyre writing??
Like what Lost Knight has said... I too am glad that I bought the Aoshima KARR a year ago when it was first released at the same time with ERTL's 1/18 KITT..
Other than the white lettering on the tyres of KARR, Aoshima's 1/18 KARR looks better and more complete than ERTL's effort..

K.A.R.R. SURFACES IN CANADA
I just ordered 2 K.A.R.R.'s from Scale18.com. I've ordered from there before. They're quick and prices are reasonable. Site is based in British Columbia, Canada but on-line prices are in US funds.

One for me & one for my brother. When I get them, I'll try to post photos of the differences between each model that should help answer some questions.
If any of you have photo requests, let me know.

So besides the tires, what are the differences with the Aoshima & Ertl K.A.R.R.'s? I now have the Ertl K.A.R.R. and have compared to the on-line photos of the Aoshima version. Besides the plate, tires and fog lights (Ertl has no dots in the middle), are there any other differences?

The ERTL box art also differs from Aoshima's. ERTL's has a square hole at the front to test the scanner light, Aoshima's doesn't have that hole.

Yep. I was on my way downstairs to screw K.A.R.R. onto a showcase base when I lost my grip (of several items) and BAM... damage!
At first, it didn't look too bad. A couple of scuffs. But then I noticed the mirrors. One is hanging by a "thread" while the other shattered... doh!
So, I ordered another from Scale18.com and expect it by early next week. This time, I'll be a lot more careful.

What are you gonna do with the damaged KARR?
If it isnt too bad, I'd buy it off of you.

ı haven't got a k.i.t.t. model and k.a.a.r. model. because there are no knight rider model cars in Turkey. And 1:18 model cars are very expensive in the Turkey.

Why are the Joyride KITT and KARR models not available at major retailers, like Wal-Mart or Toys R Us?

They are, just not in mass quantities, so they sell quick. I bought K.I.T.T., the Ecto-1, Smokey & The Bandit Trans Am and Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino all at Wal-Mart. But each time I bought each car, there was only one left on the shelf and I'd never see them there again except on a rare occasion some months later. I also bought one of my 6 1:18 scale DeLorean's at Toys R Us (From BTTF Part II).
I wouldn't fully rely on them though. Their stock is usually "touch & go" which is why it is better to use eBay or a specialty/hobby shop. A place I always buy from is Scale18.com. They're located in BC, Canada, but site prices are is US dollars. I find their prices to be very good.
