1/18 Radio Control Car (Matsushiro 1982)

Post by macp73 » Sun Sep 11, 2005 10:58 am

Hi,

I'm from the UK and a first time poster here at KR Online!

I recently discovered my well-loved and cared for KITT radio control car, in my parents' loft. It's by Matsushiro and dates back to 1982. As well as being boxed, it's in mint condition (slight tape tear mark on one side of the box and a bit dog-eared on one corner). KITT himself works perfectly (with orange scanner) and is complete and also in mint condition :D

I'd have included better pics, but only have my webcam to hand at the moment.

I was wondering how much this might be worth? I am seriously considering putting it on Ebay, but wanted to get the fans' view first.

Feel free to pm me too, if interested.

Paul

P.s. The pics have been optimised to be only 63kb, but if there's a problem posting pics then I'll take them off :)

Interesting that it was made with an amber scanner. Looks more like K.A.R.R. Still, good stuff.

I was hoping someone might have been able to help me out with valuing this little gem! It's had plenty of page views, but I'm still none the wiser! lol :?

Hello there macp73, welcome to the forum!

That's a great piece of KR toy memorabilia you have there. And it appears to be in great shape for its age. I strongly advice you to hold onto it because once you sell it, there is no turning back. If you really love the series so much, you will definitely miss a big part of your memorable past. I myself have made the mistake of letting go of some toys that later I missed so much.

It's value depends on you really. If you ever decide to put it up on the auction block, you can put a reserve price on it so that you won't have to let go in case the final bid doesn't reach your estimated value. It's up to you. Good luck with your final decision.

I agree, don't sell it. :) I also agree that it looks more like KARR, which means it's even more valued because not many things out there that are KARR related as much as there are KITT. If you do put it on eBay, I'd list it as KARR as well as KITT because those looking for KARR stuff would definitely like this!

TurbomanKnight - if you get this, you'll be one lucky guy. I'll be envious. :)
