I say more than likely. I think they're only going to change what absolutely has to be changed, which would be the front nose. Aside from the nose, K.I.T.T. is otherwise a stock Trans Am on the outside, so there really is no need to change any other aspects.

I think the extent of the differences for the regular model (on the outside) will be a different nose and a couple of decals saying "Trans Am" and the Firebird logo. Possibly some gold or silver trim might be added to the bottom as well. But I think the tan interior, PMD seats, and "bowling ball" hubcaps will remain. And obviously the dashboard would have to be replaced as well.

It's estimated for delivery around Thursday, so I'll let you guys know if it does have the clear lamps when it arrives.
It doesn't. Unfortunately KITT arrived this morning with the same orange fog lamps everyone else has mentioned.
Keep in mind that these photos of KITT with clear fogs have surfaced in other parts of the world, just as the original KITT did before it showed up here.

It may not be here (North America) yet, but all signs point to a new KITT with clear fogs so far... I HOPE!!!

I'm actually more excited that ERTL will release a stock Trans Am. No doubt it will have the stock bumper, dashboard and decals. Hopefully ERTL has received enough complaints about the tinted and framed rear hatch and has decided to modify their molds to appease the public. Let Michael Long's long lost car roll! :D

KARR by Ertl comes available this Summer I will get that one too.

REPLY FROM ERTL.

Hello Phil,

Just wanted to respond to your email regarding the Knight Rider K.I.T.T. The foglights on K.I.T.T have 4 clear and 2 orange and the Knight Rider K.A.R.R has 6 clear.

Unfortunately, RC2 does not stock any replacement items or extra parts, or issue refunds or exchanges for any products purchased from retail stores. If you have a product that is missing items, in need of replacement parts, damaged or defective in any way, or does not meet your expectations, please return it to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange. If it is not possible to return to the place of purchase, then you may try exchanging the product at a different store/dealer near you that carries our products.

Thanks!

Still, I find it odd that all of a sudden photos of a 6 clear light KITT are popping up in parts of the world.

I still feel that we have a 2nd version coming our way very shortly.

NEW VERSION K.I.T.T. SURFACES IN TORONTO CANADA!!!!

Differences I noticed:
- 6 Clear fogs similar to the Aoshima model
- Black Base

Note that I didn't have too detailed a look, but I will be picking it up tonight.

Well, I bought the car and brought it home (Toronto, Canada) this evening. I see no differences between this & the first batch released late last year except for the fog lights.

How are the clear foglights on the new version? Is it similar to that of Aoshima? Does it have the black dot in the center of each fog light?

Yes, the black dots are there. Similar (if not identical) to the Aoshima fog lights.

You forgot the rear tails :P

Has it been confirmed that the Trans Am to be released is going to be the 1982 Recaro edition?

Oh yes, the tail lights too ;)

I personally don't know if ERTL has officially confirmed the Trans-Am release being '82 Recaro Edition but here's where I got that impression:

Found another mention about it:

Which one? The upcoming 1/18 scale diecast from ERTL? It's not released yet. You'll have to wait a little more, its due out later this year.

From what I got from Ertl, KARR won't be released until early Summer 2005.

I borrowed a digital camera from my Aunt and took some photos of my KITT model as well as my other models. Some are better than others in terms of quality. A few of them turned out really cool, especially the ski-mode one. Anyways, here is the link:

Thank's KITTfan. Finally someone posted about my pics. While I still have the camera, I will take a few more pics of the models. I would like to see what you have to offer KITTfan. I think it's cool that people are using their models to create scenes. We may have started something here like the Photoshop thread and Knight Rider fan art thread.

Here's all ERTL KITT pics I've put to internet:

It may take some time before I have time to try about the turboboost pics.
I agree, it's really fun creating Knight Rider kind of scenes with this model and looking forward to see photos of scenes people create with it :D

Here are some more pictures of my KITT model. I really like doing the turbo boost ones. These ones are better than the first turbo boost pics I took. The quality still isn't as good as I would want it, but I'm still learning how to use the camera. Anyways, here they are:

Wow, thanks to everyone for posting pics. I'm getting an idea of how I want to do my AMT models. :)

Hey, I have the ability to make small movies with sound on my digital camera. Gives me more ideas of what to do with my models. :)
