Vin Diesel to play Michael Knight???
Don't get excited, or upset, this is NOT a news post.
I was just thinking, maybe instead of trying to get an actor very similar to Hasselhoff, just get someone who can play the part (Paul Walker's acting sucks and though Ben Affleck is a great actor I would never buy into him driving any type of Trans-Am).
The whole "Michael Knight's son" thing is cheesy anyways. If you can't have David Hasselhoff don't get a look alike, that's killed many movies. And besides, correct me if I am wrong (I probably am, I don't know as much as you guys due to lack of availability to the series) but wasn't Michael Knight cosmetically altered to look like that? His son wouldn't look like him anyways.
I say Vin Diesel. He could be an ex-con given another chance, taken under the wing of the old Michael Knight. KITT could be retrofitted into a Black 2002 WS-6 Trans-Am (keep the scanner, blacked out wheels and lights and the seats, just update the interior electronics like most of you have said).
Vin Diesel can be serious and funny and I could believe him as a crimefighter. Most importantly I could see him driving around in a Trans-Am, being surprised it talks, and carry on real conversations with KITT (I just see Ben Affleck whining to KITT about his girl problems).
Regardless of who they choose to play the lead I just hope they don't replace KITT. Either make him a third-gen (82-92) Trans-Am or a 4th Gen LS1 (98-2002) Trans-Am. Any other car would be a disgrace. And any other voice would DEFINETLY be a disgrace.
Any opinions?

from what i've heard, william daniels has always said he would love to come back for the voice.
personally i dont like vin. but if he were the new guy, he would have to drive an older trans am. he fits the older cars better.
i think an older trans am (82-87) would be awesome to see on the big screen. doing all the stunts kitt does with todays special effects. just modify the modifications a little. obviously update the electronics and gadgets. maybe round out the nose a little. but like you said keep some things:
wheel covers
scanner
and i think the SHAPE of the dash needs to be the same (i love that dash) along with the steering wheel.
GET RID OF THE TAN INTERIOR THOUGH! charcol or black! no light colors.

I would just LOVE Vin Diesel to drive K.I.T.T.! I saw him the first time in the first Fast and the Furious movie when my neighbor loaned me the movie last month. I loved it! Maybe Vin could be also altered, like you said, a con who got in a bad fix and got shot, etc. and got altered like Micheal Knight - and be given the same name to carry on the legacy or something...
As for KITT, I can't feature him in anything but an '82 T/A.
Or.. better yet! maybe KITT can also have an android body that also runs the car too! and would be a partner to Vin.
Or even another idea, KARR comes back, gets altered in personality, joins Flag and Vin Deisel is KARRs android driver (again, linked to KARR's car body but KARR as an android). Now THAT would be more the type of part for him - he'd fit it perfectly!
Just ideas... it's fun to dream...

He'll probably end up building his own customised turbines and rocket thrusters on KITT.

I think Vin is a natural choice for the role. His real name is Mark Vincent. That doesn't matter. What does is that he would be better for the role by far. He is a much better actor than Paul Walker and Ben Aflect -(Just my own opinion) Besides - walker is bretty much known for the fast and the furious. Where as Vin is known for the movie triple X. All that Ben has done really is "DareDevil". As far As I am concerned, they could have either picked a better actor - or he could have done a much better job playing the role. ( But like I said , that is just my opinion, and to each his/her own)

Viper rocked! It had so much promise, yet it was so short lived down here. I loved the idea of the weapons. The morphing was a bit much, though. However, the whole nearly-indestructible modifyable chassis setup and the weapons was cool! Oh, and the weapons were great! Did I mention the weapons?

Did Ben really do such a bad job in Daredevil??
Why does Ben need any help? I thought he was doing good with his career on his own. Give the role to Vin Diesel-not because of what he has done in the past but because he is always trying new things out.
Or give the role to Paul Walker - he would look good in the car.
