I suppose that given the voice and all, they must have intended for him to have a male persona, but maybe Bonnie didn't quite get all the details right for Kitt to an 'alpha male' type of AI.
I'm guessing she probably wouldn't have wanted to, given her obvious irritation with Michael hitting on her in the first season.-
