Well here's something more logical. Bonnie programmed KITT right? Well wouldn't it be logical if she programmed him with more say, 'feminine' like qualities?

That's a very interesting theory. They did establish that he picked up his fear of flying from her.
I suppose that given the voice and all, they must have intended for him to have a male persona, but maybe Bonnie didn't quite get all the details right for Kitt to an 'alpha male' type of AI.

I'm guessing she probably wouldn't have wanted to, given her obvious irritation with Michael hitting on her in the first season.

Really, KITT's voice and personality was chosen, Cause it's the least threatening, It's reassuring for the viewer, To be greeted with a kind voice
As for KITT being gay, Thats just abit silly, Sorry
