The next phase of KRO
Hey all,
I moved KRO to a new server. There may be some warts on it at the moment, and we may have lost a couple of posts in the interim, so I apologize for that.
With Knight Rider being much without new activity as far as new stories being told, as well as focus on work and family, its been awhile since we've posted articles / updates.
I've kept the lights on during this time, but I start to wonder should I shut it down.
I've decided I'm not at the moment. But I want to make KRO into more of an archive of what we did here. I'll keep the forum open and active for chat, but the rest of it will be pretty static. Things have gotten wonky over the years, and I want to clean it up to make sure it looks good in this state.
There is still a lot of good new Knight Rider activity happening on the communities on YouTube & Facebook (from Knight Rider Historians and others) - so I hope to see you all there.
I do hope you all are well and living great lives. I really enjoyed our time here and the community and memories we built. Thank you for being a part of it.
Best,
Neil

Hey Neil,
It's good to see you. I hope you and the family are well.
One of those warts you mentioned is that the https forum link is currently returning an authentication and 404 error from the new server on Edge.

Thank you. What's all this, it looks like Darth Vader's bathroom?

Looks like the errors I mentioned have either been resolved, or resolved themselves.

No problem, I'm happy to help as always. Speaking of which, using the full editor, I've noticed some of the emoticons are broken, including our much loved thumbs up.

Good to see KRO is still a thing, I'm still here, sort of.

It's kinda upsetting really, I used to hang out here a lot before and during the 2008 revival was a thing, there was so much activity and it was a fun time to getting to know a lot of members. Shame to see KR is more or less dead eversince, but I have enjoyed my time here. I hope KRO doesn't shut down soon but if it does hopefully it'll still be archived like the other threads have been. I probably haven't checked this website in years since college either. The Knight Rider subreddit on Reddit seems to be more active oddly enough.

Re: The next phase of KRO
Hey everyone! First off, a big thank you to Neil for continuing to keep not only this forum, but this site, up after all of these years. It's so hard for me to believe that I've been visiting here since circa 1997 -- nearly 30 years ago! That's just insane to me. How many other websites on the internet can claim that kind of longevity?? I know there's been a significant decrease in the world of Knight Rider ever since the 2008 series got canceled, but at the same time, Knight Rider is just one of those franchises that refuses to ever completely die. Every single year I'm amazed that it continues to pop up in new merchandise, video games, commercials, physical home media, and so much more. And it's one of the rare big hits of the 80's that still hasn't found its way to the big screen, although Hollywood keeps tapping into the nostalgic factor so I have hope that one day soon it will leave development hell and hopefully reinvigorate things and spawn a new chapter for the franchise. But I think the enduring legacy of it all is what really sticks out to me, and of course it's largely due to the hardcore fans like all of us still here and who are still active in the various communities on social media and elsewhere on the web. This site helped usher in a good portion of that, and I've made some truly amazing friends from here over the years that I am so, SO thankful for! Hopefully this site never vanishes, and if no one else steps up to the plate, I would happily help take over maintenance and upkeep if Neil ever finds it to be too much. But again, THANK YOU Neil for putting in the work to ensure KRO stays online, it's appreciated maybe more than you know!

As a long time reading member, it would be sad to see it all go away.
