Episode with the most Turbo Boosts?
As title. Was it the Pilot/KoTP that had the most or am I wrong?

Knight of the Phoenix was a 2-hour episode. Every 1 hour episode usually had one turbo boost except for Voodoo night or Goliath.

Re: Episode with the most Turbo Boosts?
Been a very long time since I've last re-visited the episodes. But, I can't be sure if KoTP truly had the most jumps or not. Got to remember that the first hour was all about Michael's transition. And Wilton's dream coming true...before he dies. Lots of story plot to go through before KITT is even given that test drive. And I want to say that it was probably close to the first hour point before Kitt has to even explain to Michael about driving with his head against the window. Then, there was that whole demolition derby chunk that was more about oil slick and smoke screen and such. (Can't remember if they jumped or not in that whole chunk.) Still, it makes sense that the pilot would want to set up more stunt scenes then the average episode, since those needed a lot of preparation time. But, they would have been cramming in the jump scenes to make it the episode with the most.
Also, I'm wondering just how many 'stunt cars' they had available during the pilot?

I think the train derailment happened a few episodes in which allowed them to rig more of the cars for more stunts. Don't think it was as early as the pilot episode.

I believe you are correct on that memory. I, too, remember the derailment being 'later' and at a most opportune moment for the series.

They really ran out of budget in season 4, hey?
I think that for large periods - certainly season 2, 3 as well I think - two turbo boosts per episode were the norm.

Re: Episode with the most Turbo Boosts?
That actually makes a lot of sense. As I certainly expect that by season four, the ratings just weren't justifying the same budget as Season One would have gotten. And, who knows just how much was spent on making that SPM look a reality. They may have also been afraid of wrecking the stunt cars if the budget was being reduced. Would definitely explain why Voo Doo Knight even exists. Though, it could have been worse. After all, a 'memories' episode full of already filmed flashbacks is such a budget saving cliche. And KR tended to shy away from flashbacks for the most part.
