If glen larson would've went foward and made kitt a Datsun,do you think TOS would've survived four seasons ?
My opinion(this is just my opinion) is no. My opinion kitt was perfect as a all American muscle car.
What do you think ? What's your opinion ?
If kitt would've been a Datsun ?

While I do see the car does have the shape of the Trans Am I don't believe it would have looked as good as the trans am. Maybe if Michael was looking more like Michael knightwood from knight in retreat. Helookedmore like an accountant to me in that episode which would fit the datsun more.

Bionic Woman had Datsun few years earlier so maybe that was one reason why Knight Rider didn't use it? Maybe Mazda RX-7 could've been another choice?
I bet if Knight Rider had used any other car than '82 Trans-Am, we would complain right now: "Why they didn't use 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am for KITT as it has so futuristic and great lines for a futuristic car like KITT"

I asked a friend of mine what reactions he gets from the younger generation when they view his conversion. Not being old enough to have watched the show, can Kitt hold his own in the looks department compared to the cars of today? He still gets great compliments on the "cool looking car". Lol

There are certain vehicles that shall forever hold their sleek, desirable looks. The Trans-Am shall forever remain on that list.
Datsun reminds me of a particular kind of look...as in being basic transportation. As in something you'd take to work or the grocery store...of a by-gone era. Not the kind of vehicle you'd take to a car show. Much less, one that would qualify as being the star of said show.
