Lost Knight
I was watching my recorded episode from G4 today and a few things didn't add up.G.L.A.G. created those nitro plastique explosives for safety concerns in demolishing buildings without the risk of loss of life. However that puts a lot of people out of work. The foundation is supposed to fight for the helpless, powerless, those who operate above the reach of the law.Basically it means to fight for the little guy,the underdog against big corporations which is usually found in most episodes. It puts entire construction crews out of business.
Another scene made me think. Why would Michael climb out of kitt after being electricuted in the middle of the empty woods and walk instead of seeing if kitt could at least function well enough to drive to a hospital. If he had to leave kitt, given his state that he couldn't even answer his own acronym designation,he should have manually shut him down so no one else could operate his systems.

Re: Lost Knight
If jobs were be an issue, FLAG might have given people sledgehammers to demolish buildings, that sure would've given work for a lot of people
It wouldn't been very high tech though and I think FLAG wanted to make technological progress in many areas, including construction safety & efficiency.
In Pilot Devon said to Michael that the rest of the work they do is legal research, class action suits, etc. boring stuff so I guess fighting for the helpless and powerless is just one area of the Foundation.
Can't think if any good answer to the second question, perhaps there was bigger road nearby and Michael tried to hitchike to nearest phonebooth? Maybe he thought KITT is completely inoperable.

Re: Lost Knight
I agree with KITTfan on the first question. As to the second, I always that that the shock actually affected Michael even though he was in KITT. I think was supposed to be in shock, or at the least dazed and confused. Doesn't he even collapse on the road, or is that another episode I am confusing it with?

Re: Lost Knight
He did collapse which is what makes the question stand out even more, why would he think he could walk back into town rather than drive?I also think that the knight 2000 should have been deactivated if left in a state of confusion as to not allow anyone to steal it and use it for criminal purposes.

Re: Lost Knight
I think that was the writers thought process...they figured he wasn't thinking due to the shock. If he was, I am sure he would have stayed with KITT, or as you pointed out at least deactivated him before leaving.

Re: Lost Knight
It was a decent premise which turned into a horrible episode full of awful writing and even worse acting.

Re: Lost Knight
Writers probably needed some way of separating Michael from Kitt. Imagine if Kitt was an amnesiac until Bonnie could replace that board but stayed with F.L. A. G.
