I know that most subjects about the Knight Rider have been discussed quite alot, but I can at least put my two cents worth in.
I finally got to see all the episodes with Michael and Stevie. Of course the last one with them, "The Scent of Roses" had a very sad ending but it was a good episode and I'd like to say that I agree with others who have said it should have been the last episode of the series. I also think that it could have have been a two parter.
I hope G4 or one of the other stations will show the movie Knight Rider 2000. I haven't seen it yet
By the way does anyone know why NBC cancel the show after only 4 seasons? I suppose maybe the rating wouldn't so good, but if I remember right it was a popular show back then.
Just some thoughts

Many people say it was too expensive to produce each episode.Ratings were dwindling.SPM mode alone cost $400,000 between all the cars it took.
You can find Knight Rider 2000 on Youtube:

Yes, it probably was expensive! I imagine it was the same with the cars they used in the show "THe Dukes Of Hazzard"
Thanks for posting the link to the movie. I just watched it. It was sad that Deven died. Can't say I was real impressed with the movie. It has it's good parts. Was this all the movie they made of the Knight Rider with David/Michael? I know they made some other series of the Knight Rider but not with David as Michael.

I also wanted to say that I felt in this movie that Michael was different in some ways. For instant when Devon died I would have expected him to be very angry about it since he was great friends with Devon. Instead he seemed like he didn't feel anything. Also this movie had a different feeling about it. It wasn't the same as in the original series. I know it can be hard to go back and feel the same and maybe act the same, but it was just so different.

I don’t know how expensive it was to do dukes of hazard but interesting tidbit I heard was that they used the same ramps for kitt to turbo boost was first used with the General Lee.I’m thinking all the money spent on all the other cars on Hazard wouldn’t cost as much as how much went into prepping the 12 kitts in season 1-3 and the spm mode cars in 4.
Devon dying was a sad point in the first movie but Michael hasn’t seen Devon for a long time.I guess that time he spent alone from the world operating the bass charter, living in a cabin on his own,all that solitude must have changed him.
There was a knight rider series in 2008 that was about his son driving the next car,the knight 3000.You can watch that show on Hulu.com
Michael was despressed when Devon died. You see him cry a bit by the funeral. You see him punching Maddock’s lights out when he said he didn’t know what Devon saw in him.Speaking that way of someone you hold close to you after they just passed away is heart wrenching. When you go from a period of time between the 80’s to the 90’s you see tv is different. The expectations of a 2 hour movie compared to an ongoing series you have to get more out of it in 2 hours. The main reason why it felt so different is for these character a lot of time has gone by and they have evolved from 1985 to the year 2000.I heard it was supposed to be a movie of the week type of show with about 5 shows a year but it wasn’t popular enough.Having the original kitt and continueing his evolution would have been more interesting to watch then starting new with a brand new AI.
