This is what happens when we try to get Pontiac to mass produce kr cars.Good thing they didn't want to be held liable for it.

I saw an animated GIF of this that someone made and posted in the comments from an article on Jalopnik (I think) a while back and while I immediately prayed that no one was seriously hurt from the collision, I did have to laugh out loud because the driver couldn't have planned that better had they tried. Definitely a good warning to drive safely though.

I guess he lost control of the car because way too fast speed, I don't think he'd otherwise been in the grass. How old was this Trans-Am, did it have Airbag?

The story is the kid was drinking after already having a prior run in with the police.

He then went on a drinking binge and wanted to see how fast he could go. he drifted
down into the embankment and couldn't regain control and hit the bridge. The car
hit the bridge sideways (passenger side) and exploded into pieces.

The car was a later model third gen. Looked to be an 87-88 trans am from the TV special
I saw a few months back. The kid lived too!

Ya this crash was investigated by some show that broke down the factors leading up too the amazing wreck because the kid didn't suffer very long and had no long term injuries. He hit a drain ditch and the car took all the energy flinging the kid out. 1 in a million chance he is still alive ;).
