I know, isn't that awesome?
MasterKey was going to have used that on the show but Gary Scott Thompson nixed the idea.
lol

GST's an idiot! he never should've been handed the reins to KR 08, he ruined the show more than NBC ever did. if I ever did have My KI2T built though, I'd want the new orb, not the old one; as the new orb reminds me of KI2T's original vox box....

glad you agree, and if I did have my KI2T built, I would have you do it, and it would be a present to my cousin; whose name is, Ironically, Michael. He even has a similar life to that of Michael Knight's too! so much so, it ain't funny!

Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
FOR SALE I'm selling my Dash Panels from my Mustang. You get the Cluster Panel, Center Panel, Pass Air Bag cover, and Pass Vent Panel. The Center Panel is cut out for KITT's ORB, the hole is 3 3/4 so the ORB will stick out more to look more like the show. The 2 vents are custom made just like KITT's vents. It also comes with the Face Plate for the ORB, it does have one small scratch. All panels are Black and are in great condition. I'm going to do something different with the dash and will not need these parts. I'm seeling them all for $300.00 plus shipping. Just send me a IM or Email.
Thanks Ted

Yes, I made it and I'm working on the glove box to install it into. I ordered some lights but I'm thinking of using a old scanner bar to light up when it comes out of the dash.

Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
Looks great Ted!
I figured out a way to motorize the tray to "slide out and back in"?
I make a kit that motorizes the tray as well as lights the correct graphics and finger print scan animations under the hand faceplate and the other panel.
The kit consists of a few parts. The basic set will have at least a trolley (rolling carriage) and end clamps to hold a set of rods. The end clamps have three 1/4-20″ threaded taps to mount to stands. A benefit to this kit is that you choose any type and length of 5/8″ rod you require. Suggested rails to be used are stainless steel rods for it’s clean smooth surface and hardness but Carbon Rods can be used as well for a lighter unit.
On one end I have a freewheeling Idler Pulley. On the opposite end is the servo motor, servo controller, and 4 AAA battery pack. These all simply plug in together seamlessly without any soldering to give you a reversible speed motor. For the string, I'm using Nylon Mason Line. Fairly thin, but strong.

Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
Once everything is finished, I will be selling a complete Glove box. This way all you have to do is unbolt yours and install the new one. I will be making two types, 1) Man. drive where you pull it out and 2) Elec. drive. Also you will be able to pick what tray you want, samples are coming. We are also working on some props from the show that would be great for car shows.

I'm glad Ted you and Joshua have the resources me I just do the research. Like I know what exactly to get for Kitt's paper scanner and printer 4 the glove box. I'll post pictures or links of them later.
Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
that's great I'll wait til all the props are out to mount them at once and not dementled the dash each time

Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
Here's a printer that can be used for kitt 3k project The first one in this picture is for the thermal portable car
printer and a scanner that looks small enough to go in the glove compartment where the airbag assembly should be. I do have a link for a color printer that is as small as this as well that should work but it will take awhile to find the saved book mark

Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
Hey Ted, if your going to build the automatic sliding anaylizer tray you will need these supplies :
Basic servos will not rotate 360 degrees. Here you’ll find the Continuous Rotation Servo: http://www.hobbyengineering.com/H1429.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is continuous and variable speed. Even though it’s a servo, it’s basically like a simple slow speed motor. It’s on or off, and the controller adjusts the speed.
You will also need a pulley to be mounted on the servo. This one fits perfectly and has the proper amount of teeth to fit flush: http://www.servocity.com/html/pulley_wh ... 2045_.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
To control the speed and to make the servo move in reverse, you’ll need this servo controller: http://www.servocity.com/html/dual_servo_driver.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
To power it all up, you’ll need a small battery pack. This battery pack will simply plug in to the controller for easy operation. http://www.servocity.com/html/battery_trays.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hope this helps some. I can't wait to see it finished! Let me know how it goes Ted.

Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
My only question is how can we fit 3 trays as in the pilot/ series the mid side of the glove compartment/ passenger air bag has 3 things 2 trays that come out after that section drops with a keyboard attached. here's a picture of it.
plus where the 2 trays go there be 2 metal plate bars in the way so that will have to be cut out and or replaced to insure some sort of support for that area to stay steady. oh don't forget there is another tray that drops down out of the glove compartment as well. Witch I Currently don't got pictures of.
Nice find toaworm I was looking into that as well for awhile. I did finda automatic drawer release for the two trays but they where to big.

Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
There is not room for three trays, You will have to decide witch tray you want or like I'm doing, I'm making it so I can swap out the trays. Josh, Thanks for posting the parts.....
Re: Great New for KITT Mustang Replica Builders!
the swapping tray is cool so you can have an analyser or an empty tray for an Ipad or something else
