Re: This is how KITT should look like
I was looking through Engadget and saw an ad for the BMW i8 concept car. I think the car's design could be a good match for a present day KITT. Ideally, whether this car or another good match is chosen I'd like to see the front end modified much like the Firebird Trans-Am was for the T.V. series.
More pictures and video here: http://www.bmw-i-usa.com/en_us/bmw-i8/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't care about the real world performance of the car, since I assume that, in story, KITT will have a specially designed engine by Wilton Knight (or his company) like the original series KITT had. I'm mainly interested in the overall "look" of the car and how that compares to the original KITT.

It looks like some today's teenager's dumb muscle car. Ugly, ugly, ugly. NO THANKS.
And when things appeared to get better, they got worse, and everyday was a day to cry.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
Since KITT is worldwide, I dont think he havta be strictly American...just as long as it is sleek looking. My choice for KITT would be one of four vehicles:
Ferrari 599xx (sleek but expensive... )
The FireBreather is a modified Camaro, with enough differences to make it unique....wish I had an inside pic....
The 2002 Trans AM/Firebird..KITT's was made of the new body style in 1982, why not use the last year of the car itself (maybe with a 82 styled hood)??? It isn't like the 02 styling looks old anyways. And 82-02 the twentith anniversary of the style anyways.
My fourth car would be a modified Dodge Challenger,I've seen some Challengers that seem KITT-Like.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
An American car with the right sort of lines is certainly my first choice for KITT, unfortunately there don't appear to be that many options right now that could fit the bill..:!FILDA!:. wrote:KITT can be only an american car
Off hand there is the Corvette for a potential base, it may be the best fit for a new KITT. While I don't like the blunt nose look for KITT, the new Dodge Challenger might have potential; I like that it's a 4 seater. The Challenger can't evoke the original KITT like the Corvette can, but the Challenger could prove interesting if modified well.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
I agree with having a Challenger with a modified slanted nose. (the hood/taillights kinda looks like KITT's). I really wouldn't want KITT to be considered just a "Black Bumblebee" .

Re: This is how KITT should look like
why not upgrade from a KR to a Super Snake? Just paint it black of course

You know, the more I look at the hood bulge on the new Challenger the more I like it. The Challenger's hood is nicely reminiscent of the "Turbo Bulge" hood on the Firebird Trans-Am.Nicholas Knight wrote:I agree with having a Challenger with a modified slanted nose. Are you talking about the Jalopnik rendering of the C7 Corvette? If so, I've got to admit that it could easily look the part without some of the more fanciful features present on the ZR1.

Re: This is how KITT should look like
Michael Scheffe, as we all know is the original K.I.T.T's GREAT designer, had said that he is very proud of his work from the past. But if he had to do it all over again with time and money, he would love to bring the front wheel forward and the wheel base wider. The 2014 Corvette is perfect for this. He said that this will make a fantastic front nose and it will make K.I.T.T. look like a space ship or something out from this world. In one of the videos posted on this site...I would say a couple years ago...at one of the Knight Rider Conventions, he had said that if he had to choose a car today it would be the Corvette. Correct me if I'm wrong but, the rumor is that Mr. Scheffe is on board in this new upcoming Knight Rider movie. Would I be correct?
Anyways, we could all go back and fourth on which car should be used for the Knight Rider movie. But, we can all agree that we are all HUGE KR fans and would love to see something soon:)
PS. I love the Challenger but, not as K.I.T.T. K.I.T.T. is the car of the future. The Challenger is a bad bootie...wanted to use another word but this is a family site;)...1970's retro car. Sorry guys. I know that I made some fans mad at me but, it's only my opinion and who cares anyways right?:) Hoping to hear some KR movie news in the near future! Be safe everyone:)

Re: This is how KITT should look like
Well a Corvette shares design lineage with Pontiac no doubt - I would take a C6 - got a lotta resemblance with KITT like the fender vents. But what should be modified would be the rear, it's somewhat too short, shorter than the TA. The side mirrors in place like the TA, not so low. The front nose more pointy.
Re: This is how KITT should look like
I agree with you, The Shadowy flight. Either the C6 or the C7. I bet Hollywood could purchase the C6 for a bargin price and use those as stunt cars:)
Re: This is how KITT should look like
no no no, you guys, KITT should be a camaro; look at the hood and the nose, they scream KITT. Plus there are bodykits out there already that can be used to create the rest of KI2T's body....
Re: This is how KITT should look like
KITT couldnt be the firebreather because that car was specifically made for a movie, and the movie productoins allowed a shop to make 50 replicas of the firebreathers.2K&3KKITT wrote: either that...or the firebreather...

I'm not Anti-Cam, but I think the Challenger should be KITT. Leave the Camaro for Transformers.
