WARNING for parents that get KR2008 DVD set

Post by 89IROCNDoug »

To parents of young children who get the New Knight Rider 2008 DVD set:

If you are concerned about your kids hearing some extremely bad language, you may want to pre-watch the gag reel, which is located on Disc 2!!! (run-time of the gag reel is just over 6 minutes)

There is no warning of bad language anywhere on the DVD package or intro that I could see, just the words NOT RATED.

yes TOS gag reel is hilarious. my favorite one is where the hoff is saying his line about KITT doing something to the enemy (i didn't even understand what he said) and afterwards he just said, "what the F does that mean."
Lady: "I bet you're tall, dark, and handsome."
KITT: "I'm definitely dark and handsome, I'm only tall when I'm climbing a steep incline."

I know the point of this thread is to be helpful, but the title kinda makes it a little more extreme then it needs to be.

So just to clarify - It's not like the set was rated G, and they "dropped the f-bomb". The disc is marked as "not rated" and as such it's up to the parents to preview content and make the conscious choice on wether their kids should watch or not.

I remember the TOS Gag reel on You tube. There is a scene on Season 4 where Michael Knight helps RC with his neighborhood and help out the blind singer. The Singer says "I don't know, I only see voices" and David goes "You only see voices, WTF?"

Heh, the only clips in TOS' reel tape that Hasselhoff doesn't drop the F-bomb are the ones where he plays around with the clapboard.

Or the one where KITT sucks him.

Being marked "not rated" is really not enough.

Since this was a TV show, the f word will not, of course, be in the episodes because it was not allowed. Many parents will be either caught off guard or will not know that their kids watched something with the f word because they will not think the extras would be that much worse than the actual episodes. I, myself, have seen other stuff that was "not rated," but was actually perfectly clean "G" rated stuff, so I can understand when parents miss this. There just needs to be a better warning or extras that are not so much harsher than the normal material.

I think it had scenes from both the pilot and the series (definitely had the series). I liked the light saber fight!

My thinking was wrong. The gag reel is only from the series. Nothing from the pilot.
