Thought ya'll would appreciate this:
from
pifeedback.com
In series-premiere news, NBC reality/competition The Chopping Block was DOA with a mere (and fourth-place) 2.8/ 5 in the overnights from 8-9 p.m. One week earlier, Knight Rider concluded with a 3.3/ 5 in the time period. And one year earlier was Deal or No Deal at a 6.9/11. All I can say is…ouch! Leading out of The Chopping Block was sophomore drama Life (#3t: 3.1/ 5 at 9 p.m.), which is likely to be facing the chopping block, followed by granddaddy Law & Order at a second-place 5.4/ 9 at 10 p.m. While Law & Order deserves accolades for building by 74 percent out of the second half of lead-in Life, let’s be honest: this show is certainly not what is used to be.

Personally I laud the failure of ALL reality shows as a rule and - until KR is officially renewed - all NBC shows in general.
What can I say - I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore!!!!

I do appreciate this....I actuallt wathced it and it was lame. Trying to do what has already been donr on Fox Hell's Kithchen, Food Netowrk various shows, and Bravo (isnt this and NBC channel) Top Chef.
The wife and I enjoy cooking shows and these reality ones are usually good, we worked in the industry so can relate a bit to the competitors. Granted we were not chefs.
Once again I am getting the Jericho feel all over. They replaces Jericho with a reality show that did not do well either, the kids without parents around in an isolated "Old West" town.
Still waiting for NBC to "chime" in on the status of KR. Life was prettty good btw, it is a show we like to watch...Im a red head=)

Well if this doesn't make KR08 look good I don't know what will. On a side note, E! here in Canada continued to air KR at the usual time, A Hard Days Knight was shown last night.

I wonder what kind of difference it would have made not having American Idol or Dancing with the Stars against it for the first time. If they would've kept the rest of the season we could have built up some more viewers.

I reckon audiences are pretty much down globally anyway.
There are so any distractions these days, the web, games, computers etc. that to maintain a relatively steady viewership like KR did wasn't really that bad going...
As has always been said, those ratings DO NOT take into account downloads and people who watch on the web etc, DVR recordings etc.
Gone are "the good old days" of 20mill consistent bums on seats.
I really will cheer the day that "reality TV" dies a death.
It's long overdue.
However, it's quite strange that KR '08 MIGHT fall because of the same predicament it's predecessor had - changing economic times and a cutting back of big TV budgets - look at the 1986 season - all the good big budget action shows went out of the window in favour of cheaper studio based alternatives...

It's cold comfort at this point, but comfort nonetheless.
It is interesting that the new reality show, against no competition, couldn't come close to KR's last (and building) audience. Now, if Kings and Southland tank (as they probably will) if could be a new ball game...
I'm basing this on nothing but wishful thinking, but still...

The Chopping block is some kind of cooking show. As another user said, food network already has a show called "Chopped".
It goes to show NBC that KR was giving them ratings. if anything lets put "The Chopping Block" on the Chopping Block, and can that show.
There is the best, then the Rest!

You know I am a fan of Celeb Apprentice and I kept seeing the ads for series prem of the chopping block in KR's time slot. All I was thinking was "why did I never see any KR ad on any NBC show?" Yet KR's ratings were better then a series premiere AND against American Idol. AI didnt air last night until 9. What a mistake on NBC's part not advertising KR and giving them the full series!!!!!!!!
Now they have to dump tons of money promoting all these new crap shows BAD BAD BAD BAD move NBC. They put another cooking show in place of KR, HA HA HA. If you want to see cooking put on the food network. I want to see action.
Thank you for the ratings of this great new show

Guys,
Now is the time to make noise on Twitter. Neps has embraced it with some *great* results. It's the easiest way to fight back and get our message across.
NBC must be crapping themselves right now. Losing Knight Rider on that slot means they lose all the male viewership along with VERY profitable car commercials. And if we know NBC, we know how much they care about being profitable.
Let's push and push and push. We just got a little closer to Season 2!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! SERVES 'EM RIGHT!!!!!!
They cut short KR by 5 episodes, underpromote it, and then advertise its successor every chance they get, and what happens?
"Chopping Block" Premiere ratings are about at the lowest point KR ever was, right off the bat.
First good news since I got out of bed on this abysmally lousy Thursday morning...just made my freakin' day, that did.

Wow. I figured if anything "The Chopping Block" would have more viewers initially and then taper off. I can't believe Deal or No Deal was that low in the ratings. Now I see why NBC wanted to try and replace it.

I remember when Marco Pierre White was featured on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations London episode. Sucks that his show didn't do that well.
