Very nice! Wanna check with you, is there any assembly required for the separate led scanner? Do we have to fix anything on the circuit board or can it be turned on straight out of the package?

no!the only thing ou have to do is put the batteries on and then put it on the model with 4 little screws!the switch will be under the car!i am telling you this scanner have better trailing effect than a real kitt replica!!indeed!!

ALSO I WANT TO RECOMEND FOR MORE REAL LIKENESS TO AIRPAINT ALL THE MODEL WITH LACKER BLACK ENAMEL....AND FLAT TAN MATT THE INSIDE!IF YOU LEFT THE MODEL IN THE MOLDED BLACK AND TAN COLOUR IT WILL LOOK MORE LIKE A TOY THAN LIKE A REAL SERIOUS MODEL!!

BE CAREFUL WITH THE DASH DECALS!DON'T DAMAGE IT CAUSE THIS IS NO PRACTICE!!YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE!!

Thanks! I'm not getting the model. I'm just getting the scanner kit. Hope to get it soon.. Thinking of fixing it into my KITT mini-Z chassis...

Thye look great stelios, do the lights pop up on the 3rd season KITT?

As for mine im gonna finish up painting tonight it should be done in the next day or 2. I painted the dash flat black to give the look i want & im not using the 2 TV monitor decals because they look too black & blend in to the dash so im gonna paint the monitors silver just as if they were off. Im going for more of a season 2 look rather than season 1.

Where did you find a place to buy just the scanner? Is it KITTs or KARRs?

I got both KITT and KARR.. From HLJ.com... The KITT red scanner is backordered but KARR's scanner is in stock. According to my account with them, KARR's scanner will be shipping soon.. As soon as KITT's in stock, it will be shipped out..

Here are a few progress pics. All in all this model is manufactured pretty good & well thought out & isnt really all that difficult to build, the things that are a pain are just painting the fews parts black, sanding the plastic stubs from parts rack & applying the very little decals on the dash, they could have made the decals stickers & would have been easier work with. The pieces go together quite well & you have to be careful when removing the smaller pieces from the rack because they will break! Im going to print out my own decals for remaining parts of the dash because it will just look better that just little paint gobs.

Sorry for the quality of the pics, I have to adjust the res a bit on my camera.

Ok guys here it is all finished up! Like i said i decided to go for a season 2 look with the 2+2 foglight setup. You can barely tell in the pics but i cut them to make individual foglights because they were molded joined together & i didnt like the plastic look in between them. I still have to print out the remaining dash decals when i get some more free time. Only problem i really had building this was dealing with such small pieces which tests your patience meaning placement, smoothing & cutting the stubbs from the part rack which i found that fingernail clippers work the best with speed & precision! Ive only had to adjust the headlights after these pics were taken & for people that are going to build one of these i recommend putting the headlight covers with the flaps on the body before adding the headlight assembly for a better fit, i had to take them off completely to re-adjust which was a pain! The turn signal covers & tail light blackout i put on with double sided tape for easy removal to replicate velcro.

Thanks for those awesome pictures! Do you happen to have an MPC KITT to put next to it so we can compare sizes?

I just received the KARR scanner from HLJ! It lights up really bright and the movement of the scanner with the trail effect is the most accurate to the series ever! But I don't have the KARR or KITT 1/24 model for it, so the scanner will be on its own for now. Still waiting for the restock of the 1/24 KITT led scanner which will be in March at HLJ. I have however pre-ordered the upcoming 1/24 KITT season 4.... Not sure how it will look like, but I have just pre-ordered it.. Hope its a convertible KITT. A SPM KITT wld be even better! >>> http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS04130

I paid £80 for season 3 as it is different enough to warrant buying another model as i'm concentrating on detailed models only now as my collection needs thinning down (keep eye out on ebay).

I just got my KITT and scanner. I had to try the scanner and it is amazing...I feel like getting a bunch and putting them on all my KITTs now, especially the slot car I made out of the Aoshima R/C.

Awesome builds guys! However, just to be on the safe side which model do you guys recommend - the 1 or the 3 season model?
Michael: Kitt what matters to me is who you are not what you look like. Sure we don't have the car so we can't turbo boost so we can't go over 200 miles an hour but it was all icing on the cake anyway

I'd go with season 3 as it is the one that comes with the led scanner. Also, it is pretty hard to come by compared to the season 1. If you wanna wait though, there is also a season 4 model coming in March which I have already preordered >>> http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS04130

But the season 4 will probably not include the led scanner..
