Anyone remember M.A.N.T.I.S???

It was a TV show from the early/mid 90s

I saw it when it was shown over in the UK on Bravo (they also showed KR re runs...)

the reason why I'm going on about on this forum is because I remember it as a 1 season show that seemed to dramatically change direction 12 episodes in....

What it actually was turns out, initially to be a little closer to what's gone on with KR08 so far. They started with a pilot produced by one group of people. The series was taken on by another, then 12 episodes in, a change of direction.

Have a look at the link above and see if it jogs anyone's memory.

They did kinda go off into a 'fantasy' direction though midway through, rather than a more down to earth route.

I really hope the parallels end at the 12 ep point because, as I mentioned, this was only a 1 season show (the full 22, unlike the KR83 wannabe "street hawk" which only lasted 13...)

You do know the complete series is coming out on DVD Jan 27th, and yes, the parrallels did occur to me.

I remember "M.A.N.T.I.S." starring Carl Lumbly & Roger Rees, it was a damn good show, I saw somewhere online awhile back ago that it's supposed to be coming out on "DVD" next year, I'm really looking forward to its release, when it does comes out.
But I see the whole point of this topic about how these shows get "retooled" mid way through the season run, it happens to the best of them. Hopefully, this retooling will be for the better & not for the worst of this series.
