Iguana is the first Ep where the doors are opened in attack mode, to reveal the don't open in the usual way.

One question

What was the point???

(bearing in mind I HAVE seen the comic con footage and knew that this was how they operated but there was no reason given to WHY they were hinged that way, i suppose just like the 'Zoe' character..... kidding..... )

they ARE cool, agreed but there was no explanation given as to why the operated that way.

Maybe Kitt should have transformed before Mike got in which would have given us a better look at them in action...

I mean it could allow Mike to get in quickly from angle I suppose. (Not that seems to be an issue as the new KITT seems to have even lost the ability to open his own doors.)

On the other hand, though, it get's rid of KITTs ability to knock people over with his doors.

I suspect the reason for the lack of a wide shot in that scene is that they would have to further modify the "Attack Mode" Mustang far more than simply sticking some blue LEDs on the doors. It would take an overhaul of the hinging and framework, I would think.

I am relatively certain they simply opened the exiting door all the way (or temporarily removed it) and 'swung' a false door over the opening so that it looked as though it were Lambo style.

Not as far as I am aware. It wouldn't make much sense to have two "attack mode" forms.

They serve as an aesthetic mod and nothing more. I like em on 2 door cars, but trucks and 4 doors ===>:puke:


Most Lambo door conersions let you open the door an inch or two before coming up to keep the glass from catching and breaking. Watch very carefully on Iguana I can't make out if they do or not. The doors cannot start moving straight up without a window frame.

Anyone hear kitt say he will open the doors in normal mode to protect sarah when she was involved in the shoot out? Apparently Kitt can open them either way despite what mode he is in.

The lambo doors for the Mustang are done by a California company called Vertical Doors Inc. After market lambo doors open in both normal mode, and lambo mode. Its up to you how the doors will work. I wonder if that really is the case here.. At Comic Con, when Sue asked about the doors, GST wasn't sure which Attack KITT they had there (cause there are two), one with the Lambo doors and one without.

I was thinking the same thing... But I am rather convinced by ken's youtube. Watching the episode again it does look like the doors can be pulled down and then in so you never know. Perhaps only the "hero" attack car has the doors, the others may only be used for stunts rather than CU shots of the actors so they didn't bother.
All I know for sure is that GST told me they are not Lambo doors but are custom. To which I think I said.. uh okay, what do I know about cars. ...Cause I wasn't sure what the difference would be.

It sounded to me like he thought you where asking if they where actually doors off a lambo.
