Lets wait and see how the whole episode finishes. The last two had alot of action in the beginning, and more commercials towards the end. Since this one starts out slow - it might balance itself at the end.

I thought this too. with someone with a DVR check the time codes against heroes and see if the commercials are even or are they giving us 15 min of show and 45 of commercials.

I know they need funding but do they really need this much?

This weeks episode was 41 minutes in length. The last two episodes were 43 minutes, so this was shorter = more commercials to fill.

I checked out the DVD's and the original Knight Rider lasted 52 minutes long per episode. Welcome to the 2008 where television must plug as many things as possible. This happens during Lost also. I resorted to watching online for less commercial interruptions or dvd. I get it. I'll go to the Ford dealership tomorrow.

If you can afford a car, by all means, that's the place to go. Mustang supports American jobs.Glissard wrote:I checked out the DVD's and the original Knight Rider lasted 52 minutes long per episode. I just hope that NBC is counting all the viewing off the Web and iTunes in terms of ratings!

Umm, Terminator lasts about 52 minutes, and they are as new as Knight Rider.
And KR's production costs seem cheap as hell to me, comparing it to shows like Hero's, Lost, or TTSCC.

Re: Is it just me or are their too many commercials?
The original series episodes were typically 48 minutes in length, so we get 6 minutes less KR than we would have back then. But as it's been said - the networks need advertising more than ever. They are cutting shows budgets left and right with the downturn in the economy - it's the sponsors that will keep this show on the air.
The Sarah Connor Chronicals are on everage 45 min in length. Still longer than KR - but not as long as you're selling.

Re: Is it just me or are their too many commercials?
The average length of an hour long TV show has gone down significantly between the 60's and today. I remember reading somewhere that the average episode of the original "Star Trek" was about 55 minutes! Nowadays most hour long shows are actually about 40-something minutes in length.
TV viewership in general is down, but stations still need revenue, so it doesn't shock me that there may be more commercials.

I assume Terminator has a longer run time because Brian Austin Green thanks the Dodge Ram for sponsoring the show before each episode. Thank you Dodge Ram for limited commercial interruption, and ah hell, thank you too Brian Austin Green! Way to get out of that zip code.

Not just the Dodge Ram, but the ALL NEW Dodge Ram by Dodge, as seen on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, featuring the ALL NEW Dodge Ram Challenge, presented by the ALL NEW Dodge Ram!

The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

Haha! Sorry, yes it is the ALL NEW Dodge Ram. Not that Bill Paxton Ram from Twister. Go Ram Challenge, go!

Watch Brian Austin show up in Transformers 2. He'll come driving up in the "All New" Dodge Ram and yank Megan Fox out of Shia LaBeouf's hands. Take that Autobots... eh, GM.
Wow. I've taken this thread way off course. Well, while I'm at it. how about an episode where KITT and Mike race Shia and Bumblebee and Brian Austin in the Ram. Maybe Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are there too. "The Knight and the Furious" There's your title.
