Attack mode secret??
Having just watched ep2 of the new series i have a question...
If Kitt, in attack mode, is supposed to be 'top secret' etc. THEN WHY HAVE 'KR' IN BIG BLUE NEONS UNDERNEATH THE CAR WHEN IT TURBO BOOSTS??????
Loved the episode though...

Re: Attack mode secret??
I think the point is in Attack Mode they want Kitt to be seen, its supposed to be intimidating.
No idea of why they have KR lit up in blue neon on Kitts belly, Im undecided on this anyway (I would have preferred red, if any) its probably just for show. (that they like blue neon

But then during the turbo boost, Mike said Kitt couldnt be seen like that, which was the only reason they transformed back and then Kitt messed up a bit (twice in one episode, including the EMP... not good really)weeezl wrote:I think the point is in Attack Mode they want Kitt to be seen, its supposed to be intimidating.

Youre right but in this episode Kitt is meant to be undercover....pheonix_knight wrote:But then during the turbo boost, Mike said Kitt couldnt be seen like that, which was the only reason they transformed back and then Kitt messed up a bit (twice in one episode, including the EMP... not good really)weeezl wrote:I think the point is in Attack Mode they want Kitt to be seen, its supposed to be intimidating.

When Kitt isnt required to stay undercover, Attack Mode is meant to be intimidating to whoever they are up against.

Re: Attack mode secret??
I have defended the use of blue and how red would be a bit redundant with the scanner, but I guess I could see it working too. But I still prefer the blue I think, I agree the KR underneath is still ridiculous but I guess it beats it being just a dull, boring, shielded undercarriage.

Re: Attack mode secret??
This "KITT is a secret piece of technology" thing has been inconsistent in the first two episodes...
Episode I
- Many people see KITT transformed during the opening scene in which he Turbo Boosted = no secret.
- Package guy see KITT on. Even was inside KITT when he transformed to Attack Mode and 4x4 = no secret.
- Still on the above scene, KITT transformed in an open road, with many other drivers there = no secret either.
Episode II
- KITT can't transform being seen by Ian Chang (at least KITT implied so) = okay it's a secret then.
- KITT Turbo Boosted right above a civilian car = back to no secret, oh come on, it won't be only the kid seeing KITT. How the hell did the other people in the SUV not notice KITT jumping above them?!
- KITT can't be seen in Attack Mode by the spectators of the drag race = back to being a secret now?
- Sarah activated KITT only after telling Sean that it's a highly classified technology = now it's a secret too.
So, maybe the point is...
KITT is to be kept a secret only from important story characters in the show. Passerbys don't count.
But if you keep it that way, then Package Guy is an important story character... hmmm, confusing isn't it?

Re: Attack mode secret??
I think to have more lights down on the floor, and I guess a product name or so if someone may steal KITT in another episode later on they will know that he is part of KR (Knight Research). I think it makes sense to say that.weeezl wrote:I think the point is in Attack Mode they want Kitt to be seen, its supposed to be intimidating.

Re: Attack mode secret??
KITT had to stay in normal mode for the race. They even addressed it later in the episode "I swear to God he was driving another car!"
If he had shown up at the finish line in Attack Mode, it would've thrown up accusations of cheating.
As far as the KR on the bottom... why was there a Knight icon on the steering wheel? It's just branding. No where do you see a KR on anything on the rest of the car.
Why is this such a big deal? It's made to look cool, that's it.

Re: Attack mode secret??
KITT has a shielded under belly now. Im accepting it as something the original should have thought about. When I think about KI2T now, he was like an armadillo with a vulnerable underbelly.

Ki2t had the MBS but its an interesting point, was the underside of Ki2t protected by it?KnightINSTINCT wrote:KITT has a shielded under belly now. Im accepting it as something the original should have thought about. When I think about KI2T now, he was like an armadillo with a vulnerable underbelly.
I remember one episode where MK and ki2t 'shielded' a bomb going off and later Bonnie said 'the muffler was shot...'
Re: Attack mode secret??
the people he can't be seen by is the guys at the finish line...if they saw the different mustang there cover would be blown...not the kid in the suv...
