I was browsing Wikipedia about all the South Park episodes after watching this episode and found this article.I noticed a scenario in the show that was simillar to KOTP,although the it's very loosely based on it.

I only read it because I was only able to watch the first 10 minutes of it before I got a lengthy phone call.

I remember that one. 
Doesn't really remind me of Knight Rider, aside from the Hasselhoff thing, maybe it was a KR reference. I'm gonna watch it and you can too at Southparkstudios.com.
