Competition was stiff in this category, what with Nite Owl's ship, Bond's Aston Martin and some sort of GI Joe digging device on the floor. But this Mustang on steroids designed for NBC's new Knight Rider boasts Lamborghini doors, a top speed of 377 m.p.h. and, most importantly, turbo-boost. All that vehicular decadence helps us forget about $4/gal. gas.

Awesome! I think this is a great sign of what happens when people take a step back. As super die-hard fans, we're so caught up in what we think the car should or shouldn't be that it's hard to look at it objectively.
Whether or not this Mustang should be "KITT", at the very least I hope people can recognize that it's a cool car in its own right.

They got it right.
Awesome! I think that KR will really take off. I mean it did better than any show in years when the pilot came out. I think we'll see more than 13 eps. Probably several seasons worth (hopefully) if they do it right. That car rocks!!

Here was one of the competitors…

Looks like just a normal car to me. James Bond hasn’t really had tricked out cars like he used to. Though I will say I really like the defibrillator in the glove compartment. I hope KITT gets one of those.
And I must say KITT looked really cool with those doors. They are apparently not Lamborghini doors, but what ever they are they are cool.

They forgot to mention the original Batman/Robin Batcycle from the very first Batman movie with Adam West that was on display as well courtesy of Hot Wheels inside the exhibit hall. Not the best mind you but it was one of the vehicles on display as well.

The beauty of Aston Martins is that they are hand-built instead of being manufactured from assembly lines. In regards to the defibrillator, I recall seeing a half-naked Deanna being defibrillated in the teaser. The defibrillator might not have come from K.I.T.T., but it's at least in the "K.I.T.T. Cave."Sue wrote:Looks like just a normal car to me. James Bond hasn’t really had tricked out cars like he used to. Though I will say I really like the defibrillator in the glove compartment. Speaking of Batman, to my pleasant surprise when I went to see The Dark Knight on opening night, there was a 1966 Batmobile in the IMAX theatre. Since so many replicas exist, I doubt it was the one used in the series, but still a very cool surprise to see, nonetheless. Here's some shots I snapped with my cell phone camera:victor kros wrote:They forgot to mention the original Batman/Robin Batcycle from the very first Batman movie with Adam West that was on display as well courtesy of Hot Wheels inside the exhibit hall. A funny side note (since I'm already off-topic): There was also a 3rd generation black Camaro displayed next to the Batmobile with some silver Christopher Nolan version Bat symbols stenciled onto the doors and hood. (Wasn't very impressive so I didn't bother snapping pictures, trust me.) What that car had to do with anything, I don't know, but a kid in line behind me looked at it and said "Knight Rider." Even though it was the wrong car, I still smiled at that.
“Gimme maximum turbo thrust and blast me outta here, will ya!?”
