The cast, if you could have it your way

Post by MJknight » Wed Mar 26, 2008 7:00 pm

Like the general concensus on here, I think the cast should be modern, younger and fresh yet at the same time pay homage to their predocessors.

To that end I think these should be the candidates to fill the legendary jacket of David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight and the car to fill the body of the equally legendary '82 Trans Am as KITT.

Michael Knight: Chris Evans or
ImageJosh Duhamel
Devon Miles: Michael Caine or Sir Ian McKellen
Bonnie Barstow: Jessica Alba
Wilton Knight: Robert Duvall
Voice of KITT: Chris Barrie
Voice of KARR (if necessary): Hugo Weaving

Just a basic list whom I might cast for the movie.

Discuss what you think.

I think Chris Evans looks a tad too young/boyish for the part.

As for the rest of your choices, the only one I would agree with is Michael Caine as Devon. The man has class, respect, experience and even a similar accent to Edward Mulhare and would fit the part beautifully. Plus, despite the fact that he plays Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan's Batman films (can't wait for The Dark Knight, by the way), none of his roles define him as a specific character (i.g. Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, or Christopher Reeve as Superman).

The only other actor I've heard of on your list (besides Robert Duvall and Sir Ian McKellen) is Jessica Alba (who I think is a bad choice), and although she's attractive (though admittedly her looks never exactly "wowed" me), I can't think of a single good movie she's been in. I also question her acting ability as I feel she is overrated because of her sex appeal as opposed to her acting ability (which is the same problem that 80 percent of Hollywood's young actors have).

Eh, I liked Jessica Alba more seven years ago before she got too skinny and started speaking publicly and coming off as an idiot. She might not be the greatest actress in the world but IMO she's progressively gotten since Dark Angel ended.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great! :skar:

isnt josh duhamel the army guy from Transformers? if so, i could maybe see him as Michael Knight, but my first choice would be Tom Welling. Michael Cain is a perfect choice for Devon, i think my second choice for him would be John Cleese. for KITT's voice, idk but for Bonnie, Vida Guerra, i know she's spanish and all but i don't think her accent is that thick and i think it would help her acting career cuz she wants to do the whole triangle: modeling, acting, and singing, and i saw her in Dorm Daze 2, and i think she's did a pretty good acting job, plus she's like the hottest girl on the planet, not to mention, i have a bit of an obsession with her. but seriously though, i mean she's an up and coming actress which is kinda what we want, she's brunette like bonnie, she's a pretty decent actress, and she's smokin hot
