hmm...
found this on wikipedia.
Apparently NASCAR briefly had these modified cars called aerocars. They had an appendage on the front of an otherwise boxy car that was intended to make it aerodynamic. It worked at over 100 mph, but the first quarter mile, it was slower than the normal car. It added a lot of weight.

I still think, in principle, it is a good idea. You just have to implement the appendage properly. It should be small, like the appendage on the front of the original KITT. Perhaps it should be made mostly of carbon fiber.

That's a Plymouth Superbird. It was a production car made so that they could use it specifically in NASCAR. I don't see your point...I probably wouldn't though...
