ok having heard the classical march piece that the Knight Rider original fanfare motif was, quite frankly, ripped off from, i have to say i like the new tune and think its more fitting for the new era...
all thats missing from the intro are clips of the cast and a turbo boost or two...

I defiantly want to see someone put that up on youtube. Cutting the cast in there will be easy, but getting a mustang to turbo boost? Hmm, A model maybe?

CGI, of course the trick is getting it to look good and not fake to the point where it ruins the immersion factor.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

they could go down the cheap route of cutting between MT being flung back in his seat and then to shots of people underneath following an off screen car overhead, then cut back to MT 'landing' in his seat...
the mustang technically would never have to leave the ground...

Yes, tis true, but we don’t have a shot like that of MT to cut from in the KR2008 pilot. The challenge I’m proposing is for someone to cut the KR2008 to look like one of the original intros. Something like this:

Gadget could do it I bet.

I couldn’t resist trying a hand at my own challenge. Here is the cast of 2008 stylized like the first season intro. No turbo boosts but I worked in the salt flats and the semi. Enjoy.

Ah, the magic of blue screen. Just paste this over your movie and make blue transparent. It’s in 320 by 240 for the web if that is the size you are editing in. I can’t stop tweaking mine myself, I’m like George Lucas when it comes to that, I’ll have to post up a new version when I’m done. I’m trying to get it as close to the original as possible. For example I had to run the shot of the semi in reverse to make it look like he was pulling in and not out. I actually don’t have a copy of the new movie and can only use what I already find on youtube, so I’m a little restricted but it's fun nonetheless. I want to see you try season 4 or something with a tubo boost. That would be a real challenge.
