Since Glen Larson was credited in the movie, I am wondering if he had anything to do with it after all or if it was simply a legal thing? I wonder if he liked it? I would be nice to get a review from him.
Since Knight Rider online got interviews with some of the people involved with the movie, how how bout another follow-up interview with the writers to figure out exactly why their was Kitt and other trans-am's in the garage.
How about an interview with the Hoff?
I thought a perfect way to give a nod to the old Kitt in the movie would have been when the bad guys were lurking around in the garage or (lab) and they would have found a deactivated Kitt or at least the black TA not knowing the history of the car and decide to mess it up and fill it up with bullets. When the bad guys shoot the bullets just bounce off. That's when the mustang could have started up and they could have followed through the rest of the way.
When sara? got picked up by Kitt she did not seem suprised or even shocked that the car had no driver..... This was a major major selling point in the original series.
Mike diden't seem to even want to drive Kitt until he actually did. Judging by the intro it seems he is interested in cars or races them (losing those guys money) He's got his mechanic buddy. It seems he would have been dying to see what Kitt could do.
Also when Sara was riding in Kitt and he began to morph.... HOw did she even know what was going on? She made no reference to kitt looking a different way or nothing of the such as I recall. Could be wrong but that's what I got from it.

Re: Random thoughts and questions
Random answers...
Glen Larson was not involved with the NBC production. I'm not sure how appropriate it would be to ask him for a review because it kind of puts him in an awkward position. I think it's fairly obvious he wouldn't say he loved it, and if he criticizes it then he looks bad for the fans who really did enjoy the new one. He would be best served making a generic comment like "it's great to see how strong the Knight Rider fandom is after all these years and I'm looking forward to bringing it to the big screen where it belongs."
KnightRiderOnline will at some point be in touch with the production team again, but I wouldn't expect then to give away any specific answers about plot details. Where's the fun in that?
When Sarah first sees KITT, there is a quick pause, where she seems to have that "oh wow, he really built it" moment. She knew about her father's work.
The first time KITT morphs, Sarah most definitely looks around and acknowledges KITT's new look.
