Check it out - Graiman's mechanical "spider" had an original series-style scanner mounted to it. Obviously, you can't tell here...but the red light moved back and forth like the Knight 2000:

I did notice the red light and figured it was a K.I.T.T. trademark even though I didn't actually notice it go back and forth. I believe there's also another machine with a red light as well, but I'll have to check to make sure later.
