Interesting references

Post by Blazing » Mon Feb 18, 2008 12:48 pm

Well I do not remember what website it exactly was but from somewhere I read that the producers got the idea to use a Mustang as the new KITT from KR 2010. It is also interesting to note that both films feature a brief cameo of a Shelby Cobra. Maybe they actualy watched the 1994 film and got very few ideas from there. Well I am not sure if this actualy is note worthy as most of you despise the 1994 film but I just felt like writing this...

I don't think we've heard that anywhere at all? I believe they have said they've watched Knight Rider 2000, but have not seen TKR intentionally.

I would find it hard to believe that 2010 had any influence at all - rather the Mustang was the best available from the small amount of choices.

That's not true at all if you listen to Dave Andron he said they pitched it to various car company's and Ford was the most interested and gave them the best deal.

actually he said both, he said that the mustang was the best choice AND that they had put the offer out there to various car companies. they said they wanted an American made car and one that "had some power to it" that basically means Mustang, Viper, Corvette. Mustang is the only one with a backseat. although the backseat did not get used in this movie. The Camaro is not American made.

Well actualy I did not mean that they got the whole idea from the 1994 film. I know that they thought Mustang would generally be the best choice but I remember them referring something to the old 69 Mustang used in KR 2010
