LoL I was thinking about this the other day and came up with a very logical and somewhat crazy senerio for them to explain what actually happend.
Mike Tracers mother is none other that Stevie....
Back when Michael and Stevie reunited in "White Bird" that hooked up and she became pregnant. She never told mIchael. As time went on she released she could not support this child and gave him up for adoption because she was attempting to get the gig and go on the road with class action.
Little Mikey was adopted by the Tracer family.

Yeah this has been brought up before and it would really be way too messy and cause a huge, gaping plothole in the original series. It just wouldn't make sense....
