Green Hornet project moving forward

Post by Michael Pajaro » Tue Mar 20, 2007 7:54 pm

The Green Hornet movie has new life; Columbia Pictures has acquired the rights for the film. The Green Hornet was originally a radio series, then it became a TV show in the 60s and featured a well-armored car, the Black Beauty.

The project has been in the works for over 10 years; in 1997, Mark Wahlberg was offered a role in it. Other potential stars over the years have included George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jet Li.

I bring this up as a sign of hope; the delays with the Knight Rider movie are not all that unusual. It's the nature of the business. Let's not give up.

I would have Jet Li play Kato but after Jet announced he was to do no more martial arts movies, I'm not sure he'd do it.

The original series only lasted one season and was basically a flop (it was the beginning of fame for bruce lee in asia), I can't believe they are thinking of doing a movie based on it.

Well ...it's about time...the original Green Hornet t.v series was a non camp-ala Batman- type action show..tho produced as a serious spin off from Batman... it was dark but played quite well at episodes end,it took a slight jab at life, done with wit & style.

R.I.P. Bruce Lee

the Black Beauty is a georgous car...! an original with a hemi-yes folks, it had a hemi...and three stunt cars....the Chrysler 300 &its re-incarnation are hemi optional....the newer one evokes a call back to he Green Hornets car....tho that was More limo-esque.....

take hint KR Movie makers/GM......the crowd awaits....

".....Let's roll Kato...!"
" Silence....we have an intruder... "
