Lois got fired from teaching. She screams "Oh, No!!" Then, the frame fades, and the purple screen with KITT driving towards the screens comes on (even with the KR music).
I think there was a def. missed opportunity in the ep. Often times, Family Guy will reference something pop culutre early in the show and then just when we forget about it by the end, they reference again. They missed a chance to play with KR again at the end of the show with doing the final and longer freezeframe.
The music gave it away for me. It's definately season 2 music, and I'm almost positive it's from a "Speed Demons" commercial break, but I could be mistaken. I'll have to go back and check. But the Family Guy folks didn't create that music, they took that (as well as the footage) from an actual episode.
I stand corrected - it's from the second commercial break in "White-Line Warriors". Each break had its own music - I just matched up the music with the episode. Check it out.

I was wondering how the hell you figured that out. Thought Family Guy recreated the theme for the episode. You're good, lol.
“Gimme maximum turbo thrust and blast me outta here, will ya!?”
I might have missed this information but does anyone know from what episode and season this clip came from?
Michael: Kitt what matters to me is who you are not what you look like. Sure we don't have the car so we can't turbo boost so we can't go over 200 miles an hour but it was all icing on the cake anyway
I thought that episode was busting at the seems with '80s references. Really loved the recreation of the panic control scene from Airplane! Though, I just thought that the KR "cut to commercial" bit was just random.
I wonder if the show had to pay royally for the rights to do that or if KR is somehow public domain in that respect?
And, aside from Conan O'Brian's tribute coin and the GE ad, is Fox's sunday night line-up shows the only ones that keep going back to KITT??? I mean, Simpson's Homer has a personal filmed message from KITT, Futurama has KITT's windshild wiper given cameo, Malcolm in the Middle makes mention, Fam. Guy commercial cut scene...what next? American Dad goes shooting at someone and KITT wizzes by to deflect the bullets???
