What you believe this car is original screen used or a show car?
This picture from Greece, summer 1987 or 1988.

looks like an original KNIGHT plate. So are the hudcaps. But the nose looks like a new one because there are no cut outs where the lights go yet.

In Knight Rider Legacy, they mention that when Hasselhoff went on tour in Europe in the late '80s to promote Night Rocker, he had a couple of display cars made to take on tour with him, so I'm guessing this wasn't an original, but pretty darn close.

then again that can just be black plexiglass for the foglights not being visable in the daytime...but very bright at night.

Does the hole in the blackout count for anything?

I thought the hole in the backout was for when they used the grapling hook, however that is spelled...lol. I was watching a episode of KR the other day and I noticed one car that had all those screws in the backout to hold it on. Could have been one of the many cars they used in the show...who knows.

Looks original. But then again I ain't a car expert. Anything can be cleverly done to make it look like original these days, so I understand,

The first time we saw the grappling hook, it shot out a hole in the middle of the rear blackouts ("Not a Drop to Drink"). Later on, it seemed to come out from underneath the front and rear bumpers.
It's just as likely the hole was so they can open the trunk.

Yeah I thought that's what it was for
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Just wondering if that made it easier to predict if the car's an original from the show?

HEY ALL!
AFTER SCREENING VARIOUS SEASON OPENERS FOR JUST ABOUT ALL EPISODES....THIS CAR IS NOT FROM THE PROMO FOOTAGE....
THE MICRO LOUVERS FOR THE FOG LIGHTS ARE CLEARLY VISIBLE IN SOME FOOTAGE SHOTS (segments with the classic voiceover "Michael Knight...a young loner..."-or-" One man can make a difference,Michael...")
AND NOT ON THIS CAR. sorry 'bout the caps- buttons stuck /old board.
still a great looking car.....I'd love to repair it! WOULD'NT YOU....? or -if given the chance, reprogram KARR....?

If you look closely at the photo where the rear end is you can see the key whole on the gas tank opener or what ever that's called. I know that the original KITT didn't have any keywholes visible on the show.

The nose is a season 3/4 bumper. They didn't even bother to cut out
the openings for the fog lamps either. The car looks to be an 82/83.
The key hole in the gas cap was an option they came with. Mine has (had)
that. The hole in the taillight blackout of for the rear key hole to pop the
hatch. Obviously might not have an auto popper or they woudn't have
needed that.
I agree that this is one of the cars the Hoff had brought with him oversea's
for his Knight Rocker tour. A basic outer conversion with a dash of some
kind in there.
You have any pictures of the inside of it? that would help identify what
they used for parts other than that later version nose.

Ok yeah I didn't think of that...I am still terribly sick so I am not thinking straight yet.

There is also the dual exaust. I do not remember any of the TV cars having dual exaust like this car has.... but like ya'll say - look pretty nice all the same.

Unfortunately now I have only those two pictures.
Don't forget that I took the pictures almost 20 years ago,
maybe I had more pictures I can not remember.

There are/were a few episodes w /exterior shots of KITT just sitting, idling -or -just having pulled up, ready to go....both exhaust plumes from dual exhaust are clearly visible......obvious a show car..and a few (if ya look for it- the stunt car as well...)...the first episode of K-v-K
is an extra stunt car.....

Glad to see another Greek fan here!
Knight Rider was HUGE in Greece back in the '80s, and still is!
